chapter one

Hi i go by the name Lady Unique... "why"? because im a young lady and im unique. I just turned 15, dark skinned, thick, and confident. I go to Footword High School with my two best friends Kendra and Lamaria.

My past isn't perfect but hey..who's past is? I've never knew who my dad was, never heard his voice, never seen his face. He left me when I was just an infant. I wish I knew who he was but momma said the less I knew the better. My mom she died from an drug overdose when I was 6. I didn't really understand at the time. My grandma took care of me up until she died of cancer I was only 14 when she died. It's been a rough life back then but I taught myself to live through the tough times. I learned how to care for myself. I got a job at Jc Penny's and I live in a apartment now. Yea I'm 15 but I was mature.

They placed me in a foster home when I was 12, I hated it so when I was 13 I ran away. I brought a bus ticket to Missouri to try to find my dad...come to find out he lives there with 3 kids and a wife...kind of broke my heart a little. Like you left me...to raise another family. Was I not good enough for you?

im glad I didn't. I wish my dad would at least got to know me, I'm not so bad.
