Flashing, bright lights. The crowd cheering out your name. All you could hear was the deep breathing of each and every person surrounding you. Your eyes continue to dart around, just seeing if anyone is as nervous as you. The sweat dripping down your face, and everyone else's in the room. That's what it felt like the first week of competition of Dancing With the Stars. But, before we even get to that, I should probably give you a quick glimpse at what the hell I'm doing here.

--Flashback to where the Stars meet the Pros--

Hi, I'm Rachel Myers, and I am a world-known Full-time, netflix viewer.

I'm totally kidding.

I do actually watch a lot of Netflix, considering I'm a producer for the company. I have helped produce some of Netflix's greatest hits, such as A Series Of Unfortunate Events, Insatiable, the Gilmore Girls reboot, Fuller House, GLOW, Making a Murderer, and a whole bunch more. I was even able to step out of Netflix for a bit and help out with the movie The Greatest Showman.

I bet you're probably wondering why the show asked me to do the show. And honestly, for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Maybe it's because since 2007, I've been writing to the show that my dream is to dance on the show even though I have zero dance ability and zero hand-eye coordination. (I stopped writing about 5 years ago, decided it was time that I let go of my childish, juvenile dream. PSH LOOK AT ME NOW.) Or maybe it was because they were desperate because like previously stated, I have no dance ability. I did dance for like a year when I was younger, but during our end of the year recital, I cried the whole time and my grandma had to come up on stage and bring me off.

So why am I doing the show if the last time I danced i cried uncontrollably in front of a crowd of maybe 400 people? Because i'm trying to fulfill 12 year old me's life dream, (and why not, it gets me out of the office.)
