Ah September, the month every high school student dreads. To Lance, it was his favourite month of the year, why you may ask? Well, Lance misses his friends that he didn't get to see over the summer and he didn't really get to see any girls (or boys, he likes to deny that he likes boys as well) since he was with his family and his two best friends most of the time. Lance is that one student who loves being at school but doesn't like to do school work, but he still manages to get great grades. He's one of those students when you figure out they're getting A's and they barely do work and you're like what the hell. Yeah, he's one of those students. He's the son his mamma could be proud of.
Lance is currently fighting over the mirror with his sister Rachel, he is trying to fix his hair and Rachel is trying to brush her teeth. "God dammit Lance!" She says annoyingly while spitting out her spit.
"What? My hair has to look good on the first day of school!" Lance says in a matter of factly tone and she just rolls her eyes.
"Well you should of done that in your time slot! It's my turn!" She glares at him and flicks water at him and he shrieks and runs out of the bathroom.
"I was done anyways!" Lance pouts as he runs down the stairs and running into his mother and father waiting for him.
"Lance, you're music teacher called in ahead of time and would like you to audition for the musical this year." Lance groans and shakes his head.
"But mamma! I don't have time for the musical this year! What about my job at the shop?" He turns to his dad who just shakes his head at his son's attempt to getting out of it.
"Lance you have to have an extracurricular by time you graduate! That is family rules!" His father puts his foot down and Lance sighs.
"Fine! I will! But I need the money for my bike!" Lance whines and his mother shakes her heard.
"We'll treat it like a job, every hour you do you'll get the minimum wage amount. That is final Lance." She says while shoving his backpack into his arms. He groans as he's being pushed out the door and his breakfast shoved with him as well.
He runs down the driveway and towards the bus stop, he sees his two best friends waiting there as well and a smile forms before he stuffs his toast in his mouth.
"I see you're late." Pidge grins as she turns to Hunk and Shay. "Pay up." She puts her hand out and they both groan and hand her 10 bucks each.
"You bet on me?!" Lance says after swallowing his food.
"Shay and I thought you would be on time this year! What happened? You said you got up early!" Lance rolls his eyes and stuff toast into his mouth.
"He told me that he got distracted by Lotor..." Pidge smirks while grabbing her juice box out of her backpack and handing it to Lance.
"I was not distracted by Lotor! He called me asking for advice! I lost track of time! And thank you Pidge!" He defends himself and saying thank you for the juice box.
"Ugh, I have to audition for the musical this year." Lance says while watching the yellow bus come closer.
"Why? Did you hear what musical it was this year? It's Footloose, not the reboot version the 1984 version." Lance doesn't say anything as the bus stops, because he secretly likes Footloose but his friends don't.
"It's a family rule, we have to do one extracurricular during high school in order to get into the family business, since I haven't done anything yet. I'm forced to do the musical." Lance says as he walks to his usual spot which is taken by a black haired teen.
"Dude you must be new." Lance says while a little annoyed.
"What?" He says while taking out an earbud.
