🍎🍏🍒🍇🍉🍓🍑🍈🍐🍅🌽🍆

Every morning when we wake up, we go out to our fields a pick fruits and veggies. (Except Saturdays. Then we set up tables at the end of the drive and sell the stuff we broke our backs picking.)

Oh, gosh. Where're my manners? I'm Allison. Allison Greene.

I live on a farm in Wisconsin. We grow just about everything possible to grow in Wisconsin. We like to stay organized. For example, each vegetable or fruit we grow has its own little clump.

Even though it may seem like it, our farm isn't very big at all.

We have three barns. One big, two small. (Well, the third one isn't necessarily a barn, more of a coop. It's the chicken barn.)

The big barn is for the cows. They sleep inside, or stay inside in wintertime. (Right now it's summertime.)

The second smaller barn is just for the horses. And the barn cats. There's a little square full of blankets that they sleep on, and also their food and water dishes. They only come to eat a sleep. Then they just run around the farm. We probably have around eleven. The max is most likely fifteen or twenty.

They come and go. Have babies. Die. Get hit by cars. Run away.

We don't really own them. We started with two, ended up with eight, then more just came and went. That's why we don't bother to count.

But my younger brother and sister, Jenna and Carson, try to name them. The only ones they remember are Pumpkin, Ginger, Maddigan, Tommy, and Oak.

Don't ask me how they came up with those names, I don't know.

But I named one. Rose. I named her after my best friend, Rose Stephens. Rose got real hurt in a car accident, but she and her parents are better now. But Rose still has a bad leg, and she can't swim too good anymore.

I named the cat right after I heard about the crash. It was real bad. On the Wisconsin News and everything. Rose got to be on TV. She's always wanted that. But it wasn't for a good reason.

I don't see her much anymore. She decided to take online school, since its hard for her to get around. But we keep in touch best we can. I have a new friend now. Her name is Lizzie. But Rose will always be my BEST friend.

Enough about Rose. Makes me sad thinking about her.

So anyway, every morning, when No Toes (Our rooster. He got frost bite and his toes fell off) crows, we wake up and get dressed. Then we go outside and start our chores.

(By the way, Miley is my oldest sister.)

It seems like a lot, but its actually kind of fun.

In my opinion, picking in the orchard (#3) is the hardest and the longest.

If you're wondering how we do all that and then make it to breakfast, we wake up at 6:00 every morning.

Thanks to No Toes. He's an alarm clock that I can't unplug.

Mama helps, of course. She helps with the picking. (Apples, cherries, pears, peaches, plums, corn, eggplant, cucumbers, potatoes, onions, peppers, beans, and carrots.) But after Jenna and Carson come and help with the last eight, Mama goes inside and starts her indoor chores.

And cooking isn't one of them.

Mama's Indoor Chores

1. Collects laundry 👕👚👗🎽👖

2. Puts laundry in washing machine

3. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and dusts

4. Eats breakfast

6. (On Wednesdays she goes out shopping for groceries we can't grow or collects from animals.)

7. If she doesn't go shopping, she relaxes until the laundry finishes (sews, reads, scrapbooks, ect.)

8. Takes laundry out and hangs it up on clothesline

9. (I don't really pay attention to what she does the rest of the day. I guess she sometimes goes to Book Club or something like that.)

At nighttime, Jenna and Carson go outside and feed the cats and dogs once more. Then we have dinner and just chill.

Is that the right way to use that word?
