She's Dead, He's Evil ✓

Chapter 1

Hello! This is my first YJ themed fanfiction. My goal is to have this entire story done before the next season comes out. Am I the only one who is freaking excited for season three? Okay, I'm calm. I hope that you enjoy this fanfiction. Now onto the first chapter!

Artemis takes a deep breath as she walks through the Zeta Tube. "Artemis, B07," the computer announces as Artemis arrives at the cave. Nightwing stands in front of the zeta tube with a small smile, "Welcome back, Artie."

Artemis sighs, "Really, Nightwing. I thought you were pass the childish nicknames."

"If you think that, you must not know me very well," Nightwing replies with a smirk.

Artemis cracks a grin, "I've missed you, Dick..."

"I missed you too, Artie," Nightwing says, "Also, secret IDs...not everyone on the team knows who I actually am."

"Right," Artemis says. They both start to walk away from the Zeta Tubes and towards the middle of the room. "How is Wally taking all of this? Did he still try to convince you not to come?" Nightwing asks.

Artemis nods, "You know Wally, he's just overprotective. He'll get over it. He knows that I am more than capable of handling myself."

Nightwing nods his head and grimaces, "Artemis, you know I wouldn't have asked you to come back if it wasn't absolutely necessary. I know that you and Wally stepped away from the hero gig for a reason. I don't want you to think that I pulled you back into it just because."

"Don't worry, Nightwing. I honestly don't mind. I know that you would only contact us regarding a mission if you knew that you needed us. I trust you, so stop stressing about it," Artemis replies placing a hand on his shoulder. Nightwing gives her a small smile. "Can you get me up to date on what's been happening?" Artemis asks, "You gave me a bit of background beforehand, but I still feel like you left some stuff out."

"Yeah, there's a few things I was hoping to tell you in person," Nightwing says opening the Cave's monitor system. He taps on the keys and brings up different images or videos of the events he speaks of. "The Kroloteans invaded Earth and we began to take actions to have them removed. Adam Strange, the creator of the Zeta Tube, told us about how the Kroloteans were even arriving on Earth. They were using the transportation tech on the planet Rann to make their way here. We also discovered that the six members of the League that went missing for sixteen hours are banned and seen as wanted criminals. Because of this, Miss Martian, Superboy, and Beast Boy all accompanied Adam Strange to Rann in order to stop the Kroloteans from transporting to Earth," Nightwing explains, "After that, we found out what actually happened in those sixteen hours. They were sent to Rimbor, where they attacked everyone in sight. The Kroloteans only came to Earth in retaliation. The six League members are currently on Rimbor testifying to their innocence. John Stewart, Hawkman, and Icon all went along to help their case."

"Wow..." Artemis says.

Nightwing sighs, "There's more. I sent a group down to Bialya and found out that Psimon is once again active. The group discovered that they were transporting kidnapped runaways under the orders of Queen Bee. Miss M was able to get some information from Shimmer's mind. Turns out that it wasn't Queen Bee's master plan. She was only providing the abductees for a new unknown partner. We still have no idea who they may be."

"Hm..." Artemis mutters, "Any clues as to who they are?" Nightwing shake his head and Artemis sighs. "That's pretty much it. You should be up to speed now," Nightwing says, "I already debriefed the rest of the team. They're getting ready before we head out."

"Alright, what am I doing?" Artemis asks with a small smile.

Nightwing nods, "Ferris Aircrafts is launching a communications satellite to better connections between Mars and Earth. Although many people do support it, there are some who wish to see the launch fail. It's our job to make sure nothing happens to the satellite and it makes its way up to space. You're going to be covering the ground with me. Lagoon Boy is protecting the seas. M'gann and Conner are going to be acting as the League while the press conference is being given. They will then board the Bio-ship and monitor from the skies."
