Taylor's POV
Seeing Baylie made me realize how much I wanted her back in my life. I missed having someone to hug and hold and to love. Someone who actually loved me instead of someone who loved using me. But I brought that upon myself. I let it happen and as much as I hated to admit it, some part of me enjoyed it, which made me just as guilty as Hayley was.
Speaking of Hayley, it's been eight days since I had last spoken to her. Over a week. Most best friends talk to each other everyday, but was it even right to still consider us best friends? It's more like we're in that awkward stage between 'friends with benefits' and 'it's complicated', and to be honest, that's the last thing I wanted. But as of now, I needed to get Hayley off my mind.
I texted Baylie and asked her if she wanted to meet up. She responded with a 'yes' and we both agreed to meet at the small coffee shop near her house in twenty.
I arrived a few minutes late due to traffic a a couple of wrong turns. It's been a while since I've been on this side of town and being here brings back memories from when Baylie and I were together.
I searched the little shop for her, finding her sat in a booth in the very back, looking out the large window. I slid into the seat across from her and she removed her eyes from whatever she was previously focused on outside and turned her attention to me with a smile on her face.
"I'm so, so, so, so sorry I'm late. The roads were busy and I kind of got lost on my way here, but-"
"Taylor, it's fine." She laughed, cutting me off.
I sent her an apologetic smile, mouthing another 'I'm sorry', and she playfully rolled her eyes. The waiter came over to take our orders and we made small talk while we waited for our drinks.
"So how've you been?" I asked as I watched her play around with the bracelets on her wrist.
She looked up, her eyes meeting mine, and she shrugged. "Good, I guess. Pretty lonely without you," she said, a smile tugging at her lips.
"I can honestly say the same."
Before she could respond, the waiter came by with our drinks. We thanked him then continued on with our conversation.
"How about after this, we go back to my place and have a little movie marathon?" She asked, her adorable smile becoming larger.
"Baylie Brown, are you asking me on a date?"
She laughed. "Hey, all I'm saying is that I
have a whole lot of popcorn at home and I don't want to eat it alone."
"Then I guess I'm gonna have to take you up for that offer." I smiled and we stood up, taking our coffees with us and left the shop.
Hayley's POV
"Chad, I'm going out!" I yelled before heading out the front door.
I was on my way to visit my good friend, Carah. The last time we hung out was before Paramore's last tour and it was time for us to catch up. Plus, I really needed to get out of the house and away from Chad. The more time I spend around him, the more guilty I begin to feel, and right now, I just needed to feel something other than guilt.
I got in my car and sat there for a while, making sure I had everything I needed like my phone, my bag, etc. When I was sure I had everything, I texted Carah.
Hey, I'm on my way to your place. Is there anything you want me to get while I'm on the road?
I put my phone down but just a couple a few seconds later, it vibrated.
Carah: Just coffee, please :) xx
Of course, I thought to myself. The girl's addicted.
I pulled out of the driveway and made my way to Eddie's Coffee Shop, the best coffee place in town. I got there in about ten minutes and quickly found a parking spot. I stepped out of my car and walked inside, the delightful smell of fresh coffee filling my nostrils as soon as I walked through the door.
I stood in the line at the front counter, which wasn't long at all, Thank God, and waited for my turn to order. I looked around medium sized cafe, watching waiters rush to tables and booths, and looking the happy couples who shared drinks and deserts. I turned my attention to the other side of the cafe then froze as a certain pair caught my eye. Taylor and Baylie. I quickly turned away, praying that they hadn't seen me staring.
Just then, the lady at the front counter called me up and took my order. She began preparing the drinks and I got a little impatient after my first three minutes of waiting. I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could, or at least before Taylor and Baylie could notice me. A couple of minutes later, the lady came back with two coffee cups in her hands and I laid a ten on the counter, taking the drinks and rushing out of the shop.
Once I got to my car, I let out a sigh of relief. I don't know what I would've done if they saw me or even worse, approached me. I didn't have the balls to face Taylor, not after our little argument the other day.
Thank God he wasn't going to the dinner Jeremy and Kat invited us to tomorrow night. Jeremy said something about him not being able to come because of a family emergency, so he that meant he'd be in Nashville with his- Wait... Why wasn't he in Nashville? Shouldn't he be there instead of here in LA, having coffee with his ex-girlfriend? Why was he with her? Aren't they supposed to broken up?
Did he lie about not being able to come so he could make up and spend time with her? Or maybe he didn't have the guts to face me and thought it'd be a great idea to lie about his whereabouts to get out of having to go to dinner with us. Either way, he lied, and it made me upset. And for some reason, knowing he was spending time with Baylie upset me even more.
Taylor's POV
// a couple of hours later//
I closed my eyes and laid my head back as relaxed in bed, well, in Baylies's bed. Her head was on my chest and my arms were wrapped around her bare body as she traced patterns on my chest. If weren't for our heavy breaths and heartbeats, the room would be completely silent. But I enjoyed hearing the sound of her heartbeat as she rested herself on top of me.
To be honest, sex was the last thing I expected to happen between us when we made it to her house. She wasn't the type of girl who was hungry for sex, but after watching a couple of movies, one thing led to another and now here we are, wrapped in each other's arms.
It felt good, and it felt even better that I didn't have the feeling of guilt haunting afterwards. I missed this.
"Taylor?"
I opened my eyes at the sound of her voice and looked down. "Yeah?"
She hesitated a bit before speaking, making me a little nervous for what she was going to say next. "What does this mean for us?"
"What do you want this to mean?" I asked.
"I want this to mean that you're mine. I want you to be mine again."
I smiled, happy with her response. I then ran my fingers through her hair and spoke. "Then consider me yours."
