"Happy birthday princess" my father said while kissing my forehead. My mother walked in with a tray of all my favorite breakfast meals. My mouth was already drooling at thinking of my mom's cinnamon pancakes with icing drizzled on top, with a side of freshly cut strawberries with a talk glass of orange juice. Today I turn sixteen and I couldn't wait for my party later, it was going to be the biggest party of the year. I was going to have a fog machine, picture booths, and cotton candy stands. I decided to have a circus theme,I wanted the lady who hung from the ceiling on the ribbons, the man who walks on stilts-my party is going to be AMAZINGGG.

While eating my breakfast I felt a blanket of tension between my parents which was very odd. They were on the opposite sides of my room that was one thing that was off.

My parents were always lovey dovey and holding hands. I always dreamed of one day my husband I could have a love like my parents. My parents were barely talking which was also odd. If anyone told you that I talked a lot it's because my parents were a talkative bunch.

Every year my parents would take turns on telling me about the day I was born. Today it was completely silence. My father kept running his hands through his hair which he only did when he was nervous. My mother sitting by my window playing with the curtains and so often dazing out. My mother never dazed out, something was seriously wrong for my parents to act like this.

"What's going on here" I said, not being able to take the silence any longer.

"Nothing princess" they both said simultaneously.

"Sureeeeeeeeee" I said eyeing both my parents while I stuffed my mouth with pancakes.

"We have something to tell you "my father said finally moving from my door.

"Not today Oliver. Not today" my mother said coming back to reality once she heard my father start to talk.

"Then when Carole" he said with his thick English accent.

"It's her birthday! We are not ruining our baby girl's birthday" my mother started yelling.

"What's going on?' I said screaming over both my parents' voice.

"We're getting a divorce sweetheart" my dad said while sitting on my bed.

My mother simply walked out the room visibly upset.

"Why are you guys getting a divorce daddy' I said while crying.

"Irreconcilable differences" he simply said.

"YOU CAN FIX THIS! YOU GUYS ARE IN LOVE!' I began to sob, I felt my father wrap his arms around me. I lost something that day---hope.

It's Saturday night, it's my twenty-first birthday. I wanted to hit up the new club "Angel's Lounge" downtown. It's heard to be the newest hot spot.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSA RAMONA TRUMAN" my best friend Isobelle sang into my ear after blowing up my phone all morning. She honestly couldn't wait until I woke up to tell me happy birthday?

"Whatever" I said grouchily on the phone, I hate being woken up from my sleep.

"Don't be like that, you are twenty-one today. TURN UP!" She started getting hype on the other side of the phone. I wasn't even this hype and it was my birthday. I hated my birthday since I was sixteen, I didn't care for it at all.

"Shut up, you know I hate birthdays" I said while stretching, since I was up I might as well start my day. I looked at the clock and it was already noon.
