When my eyes opened, everything was black. I couldn't see a thing as I tried to stand. When my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I realized I wasn't in my room. I was laying in the woods, my dress and my leather boots drenched in mud. I reached my hand over to my shoe and wiped some mud off with my hands, soon flicking that mud onto the floor. I couldn't believe my dress was ruined.

Anne had just made it for me, for my 18th birthday, which was just yesterday. I stood up and after falling back into the mud a couple times, gained my balance and headed back to the tower.

Every step I took ached my feet. I was too tired to be walking in the middle of the night once again. After pushing myself through the thorn bushes, trying as best I could not to get scratched. I appeared in front of the tower. When I walked in I shut the door, and headed up to my room. As I walked I wondered how I ended up in the woods. Sleepwalking maybe? But that wasn't possible, It was morning when I fell asleep. How could I have walked out of the tower in daylight without anyone, not even Anne noticing.

When I reached my room, I twisted the door handle, only to realize that it was stuck, it wouldn't open. I banged on the door and called for someone to open the door but nothing happened. I soon gave up and rested my hand against the door. Suddenly, I noticed something glow through the key hole. That was odd. I never had anything in my room that glowed. Or at least, I didn't remember having one. I peered my eye through the hole and looked around. It was the same old room I grew up in, although there was something about it-

A middle aged woman, with wavy blue- almost black hair, sat laughing on the bed, her hand draping across a dress that lay across her lap. She was smiling at a little girl. She had sparkling blue eyes and had long brown hair, forming the smallest curls at the bottom. She looked a lot like me actually, without the scrapes and cuts, along with the yellow eyes.

"Here I got this for you.."

"For me?"

The girl walked over to the bed and sat down, staring at the dress.

"Oh mother..."

"Happy birthday darling!"

She hugged the little girl closely and then handed her the dress. "Go on now, try it on!" The girl giggled slightly and ran into the closet to change. She emerged in a pink, lengthy dress, that went down to her feet. The sleeved went up to her elbows, with lace at the bottom and around the neckline of the dress. It was absolutely gorgeous from Catherine's perspective. The woman gasped, taking the girls hands. "Oh Elizabeth! You look stunning!"

Elizabeth.

It was that name again. I glanced around my room. Studying it once again. Something was wrong. It wasn't how I had it this past morning. The bed was made and the pillows looked almost like clouds. The girl twirled in the dress. She looked so happy. I kept my hand on the door knob when someone placed their hand on top of mine. I quickly lifted mine up, only to see that my hand when's right through the mans hand.

I gasped. What was wrong with me? Why couldn't I keep a grip on the door? I quickly slipped through the door as he opened it. When I finally stood in the room, Elizabeth was no longer twirling and singing, she was huddled next to the woman who looked like her mother. I watched as the man walked back and forth, taking his time as his hands later clasped in front of him.

"Gothel, wasn't her birthday last year?"

"Why yes, but-"

"Birthdays are every year daddy! I thought you knew that!"

The girl giggled but her mother didn't approve, she sat by Elizabeth and whispered something's in her ear to quiet her down. While I stood there, I decided to study the man across from me. I didn't focus on him on the way in so why not now? Taking in all his features, I gasped. How had I not noticed him before. I was ready to scream. How was he here? I never let him in my dreams. When I came back to reality, Gothel was standing, screaming at pitch, while Elizabeth, lay under her bed, staring up at the two.

"It was her birthday dear, she always wanted the dress-"

"We don't celebrate birthdays Gothel! "

Gothel backed away quickly, using the bed for support. "She's just a girl-" "but she's no ordinary girl Gothel!" I looked over at Elizabeth as a tear slipped down her face. I had never seen father this way. I felt bad for the poor girl, she shouldn't have to see this. I watched as she ran from under the bed and into Gothel's arms, turning over to Pitch, her lips quivering. "Don't speak to mommy that way!" Suddenly, magic swirled around the girl and her mother and arose and hit pitch, knocking him over and banging him into the wall.

"Elizabeth, stop!" Gothel yelled, but Elizabeth eyed Pitch as he stood up, magic forming in his hands. I looked over at the girl, who gasped. Her magic wasn't enough to keep her safe from what pitch was going to do. Everyone in the room knew that. Not thinking, I jumped in front of the girl as Pitch shot out his magic, it spiraling into the air. It hit me with a jolt, and I fell to the floor.

The girl stared down at her hands, amazed at what she did. Gothel and Pitch stared at her in amazement. "How did you..." "I don't know." Elizabeth said, still staring at her hands. Pitch looked around the room. As I stepped back, he caught my sight. But how? I thought I was invisible. That's wasn't possible...

Suddenly, I felt him yank my shoulder, the cut on my collar bone yelping in pain. I started running from the room and down the stairs. He started to follow me, and when I looked back again, I saw Elizabeth and Gothel, watching as Pitch ran frantically chasing...nothing. Of course they saw nothing. My only question was how could he see me? I felt a gush of adrenaline when he clasped his hands around my neck.

Of course I could feel it. It hurt. I kicked my legs to fight back but he just laughed. I gazed at the little girl and her mother one more time before turning back to pitch. When I turned back I gasped. It wasn't Pitch. It was the mutant monster that attacked me the day before. I looked around for help but Elizabeth and Gothel weren't there anymore. I was back in the woods. I didn't want to repeat what happened that night. I screamed in pain as it retraced its claw of my collar bone.

I looked to the side as I saw Jev run into the bear, pushing it away. He ran over and helped me up, as I brushed the dirt off my dress. The mark on my shoulder barely there anymore. Thank you, I mouthed. I was happy he came this time. it opened another door to the possibility that he wasn't who I thought he was. He nodded, embracing me in a hug. He held me tight, his hand resting on the back of my head.

"Nothing's gonna happen to you Angel. Your safe." I smiled and wrapped my arms around him. I felt safe whenever he was around. I couldn't help but admit it. Suddenly, something wrapped around me, pulling me from him. I grabbed his hand, but he let my hand go, laughing as I was pulled away.

"You may think your safe,"

the words echoed down the endless black hole. I was falling down.

"But you're wrong."

I screamed as the world twisted and my mind went blank.
