Chapter 1

Alyssa’s POV

“I’m sorry Ally, this thing between us, I just don’t feel it anymore. We’re over. It’s not you it’s me.”

I couldn’t breathe. I wasn’t angry or sad; okay, maybe I was but I was more disappointed. I watched him turn his back on me and walk away.

I know you must be pretty confused right now so let me get you up to speed. I’m Alyssa Reid and the jackass walking away from me is Jonathan Taylor, my boyfriend, well my ex-boyfriend now. We’ve been dating for about a year now but I guess that doesn’t really matter anymore.

I grasped the necklace he gave me on our 6 month anniversary, “Johnny!”. As he spun on his heel to face me I ripped the necklace off my neck and threw it at his feet. “I guess you should have this back then!” I screamed, slammed my locker door shut and walked away through the school doors.

Jake’s POV

“Hey Fey Fey”, I called out to the blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty I had called my best friend and crushed on since 3rd grade, “Can I talk to you?”

“Yeah, what’s up?”, she replied.

“So, erm, will you, err, erm, willyougooutwithme?” I mumbled out of nervousness.

“What? I didn’t hear what you said Jakey. You said that too fast and what are you so nervous about” she said, hands on her hips.

“I said” dragging the word ‘said’ “Will you go out with me?” saying each word slowly.

As she stared at me for a minute or two, even though it felt like days, my nervousness peaked to an all time high.

“I…I’m…I’m sorry Jakey, I can’t. I…I just…I just…I only think of you as a friend, more like a brother and it’s weird dating my brother, you know”. She reached out to touch my arm but I flinched away. She dropped her hand sadly and walked away. I slammed my locker door shut and strolled out of the school doors sadly.
