this weekend was music midtown in atlanta. billie and you are juniors in high school, she was homeschooled while you still went to public school. you wished you could fly over with her like you both did as often as possible, but you had way too much studying to do your parents didn't allow you to go. or so she thought.

billie had left the day before, and this day was the first day of the festival. you had a cheap, early flight to atlanta and from there you went straight to the festival. finneas knew you were coming, and greeted you with a hug before bringing you backstage. billie was in the middle of singing 'ocean eyes' which was one of your favourite songs by her.

she finished the song and interacted with the crowd for a little, how excited and adorable she was on stage made you grin. the intro music to 'my boy' then started, and you began to walk out. billie was preoccupied, and didn't notice you but the crowd certainly did. just as billie lifted her microphone to sing, you cut her off by singing the opening line. her face pulled into a huge smile and she whipped her body around, running to hug you. the crowd only screamed louder when the two of you crashed into each other.

"holy shit!" billie laughed, her voice muffled by the fact she was wrapped in your arms. she lifted her head and pecked your lips quickly and gave you a big smile, before the two of you sang the remains of the song together.
