"Blair! Time to get up, you'll be late for your first day of school." her mother's voice called. Shaking her head Blair threw the covers to the side and placed her bare feet onto the warm carpet.
With a sigh she stood up slowly and began to get dressed, throwing on a navy blue flannel, dark blue jeans with light grey converse and her black glasses on, Her raven black hair was weaved into a side braid. Blair tossed her backpack over her shoulder and walked out and down the stairs.
This year was her senior year at Eclipse high, popularity wasn't her strong suit, the only recognition she got was when the other students needed her to help them study. If she ever saw a student in need Blair was always there to help, even if she hated the person.
Stumbling her way to the kitchen, she grabbed a piece of toast and gave a goodbye kiss to her mother, "Have a good day sweetie. I can't believe you're already in your senior year. Your father would be so proud to know what a wonderful women you've grown up to be." Her mother spoke while she was scrubbing the dishes from last night.
"Yeah, I know. Anyways, Persephone wants me to go to her house after school, Would you be alright If I go?" Blair questioned leaning her elbow on the counter.
"Blair, i'm only 42 years old. I can take care of myself, now you better get going before you're late. On your first day no less." Her mother laughed shooing her away.
"Alright then, I'll be back around six. Try not to burn the house down while i'm gone," Blair laughed at the scowl her mother gave her, while walking out the front door. Pulling out her keys, Blair strode over to her rugged black truck unlocking the door. As she opened the somewhat rusting metal it squealed in protest.
"You leaving without me, i'm hurt Blair." a male voice called behind her, turning her head towards the voice. She knew exactly who it was, Leal, her best friend.
"Umm, who are you actually?" Blair jokes, hopping into the driver's seat. Closing the door with yet another squeal of protest.
"Fine, be that way. I guess you'll have to go alone to hell's dance. Pity I was planning something very fun and entertaining, which would probably get us kicked out. But I guess you'll never know what it is." Leal said crossing his arms while staring, with sass painted all over his face, at Blair through her car window that was open.
Rolling her eyes Blair said, "Okay freckles, get in. Before you decide to trash my house with fake snow again" She giggled.
Blair wasn't the type to dress in newly made clothes on the first day of school, Leal, however did it every year since she met him, which was now 14 years ago to the day. Leal was wearing his classic jean jacket with a new navy blue shirt she bought him during the summer along with dark blue jeans, his light brown hair was messy but fashionable, his shoes were a slick black pair of converse with a pair of gray socks.
Leal ran to the passengers side and quickly jumped into the seat, "Do you ever get new clothes, just for fun" Leal whined to Blair
"Hey, unlike you, I actually save my money." Blair teased, putting the keys into the ignition. With a low whine the rugged truck groaned alive.
"Save it for what, Books and flannels? Yeah i'll pass on that. What you should get is a new car. Yours sounds like a dying goose on drugs." Leal laughed as Blair started pulling out of the driveway.
"Hey! Don't you dare criticize Berry, he works as hard as he can, driving your butt everywhere. And you can't talk much, Leal. You don't even have a car anymore, you got it taken away." Blair remarked while driving towards their destination.
"Now say you're sorry to Berry, before he quits for good," Blair ordered. With a groan from Leal, he placed his hand onto the side door, with his eyes closed
"I'm sorry Berry, for calling you a dying goose on drugs" Leal apologized, then looked at Blair with a are you serious look.
"So anyway, have you talked to Persephone yet?" Blair paused "Or did you chicken out again, You know she doesn't like guys who are chickens." Blair said glancing at Leal for a second before turning back to the road ahead.
Shifting in his seat, Leal stared at his hands in his lap. "Oh my god, you really did chicken out didn't you!?" Blair laughed sending him a friendly punch to his shoulder, "She's not that scary, I bet you if you ask her out, she'll accept. Scouts honor."
"Yeah, easy for you to say, you've known her way longer than I have. A-and she doesn't even know me, and do I blame her. I mean we aren't exactly popular, I'm surprised you're even friends with the most popular girl in school." Leal sighed once more, staring out the old trucks windows.
"I'm going to her place after school, you wanna come? I'll even leave you guys alone so you can confess your dying love to one another," Blair half joked. Blair has only known Persephone for about three years, but she knew that Persephone had a little crush ,of her own, on her best friend even before she became friends with her.
"And talk about girly stuff, I'd rather not." Leal butted in, putting his chin in his hands. "And besides, I already have plans." He added. Raising one of her eyebrows, Blair looked at him curiously.
"With what exactly? The only plans you make are pranks on the school, either that or on other students. What possibly could keep you busy?" Blair said a little shocked.
With a huff of offendance, Leal turned to face Blair. "I'll have you know, you also help with the pranks. And besides, I have a playdate with Assassin's creed Odyssey. I was going to invite you, but it seems you already have plans." Leal huffed once more with a bit of annoyance built into it. Rolling her eyes, Blair and Leal finally reached the school parking lot.
"I'll join you tomorrow, okay, This was like last minute. Persephone said that she found something that I need to see urgently, after school of course." Blair reassured while parking into her number spot. A smile spread across Leal's face
"Okay fine, I guess i'll wait till you come over tomorrow to play. And besides that, when are you going to tell your mother about what happened last time you want to Persephone's house, hmmm?" Leal giggled slightly as Blair instantly blushed.
Pointing her index finger at Leal, "Don't you dare tell her! You know how she is whenever I tell her about a boy. If you tell her she'll flip!" Blair shot out, pulling out her keys from the ignition. Leal quickly jumped out of the truck ,
"Ooo, that means you haven't told her yet! Oh man, now I know what I can do today after school" Leal laughed closing the door shut and running away. Blair instantly jumped out of the rugged truck and slammed the truck door shut as she started chasing Leal.
"Don't you dare, Leal Alexander Juniper!" Blair yelled as Leal ran away from her laughing.
