Under the Hat (REWRITTEN)

A/N: Greetings! It has been a very long time since I posted this! It took a while but I rewrote the entire thing since there were quite a few errors and time skips galore. I do warn you that not much has changed plot-wise so if you wanted new content, I'm really sorry to say this isn't it. Hope you enjoy!  I'll be using the English dub name for Trispin/ Sadlygrove which is Percedel or Dally. All the other names like Eva, Amalia, Yugo, Az, Ruel, Adami, etc. should probably be the same. This will be picking up right after season 2 and before season 3. This means Adamai still has a healthy relationship, Percedel has his arm, and Eva/Dally are sadly not a couple yet.

It was a bright sunny day like aways in the Sadida Kingdom. Animals thrived, tofus sang, and plant-life thrived. Ruel, Dally, and Yugo were walking back towards the castle after bathing. Upon reaching the castle, the men were greeted by Eva and Amalia.

"What took you so long? We've been waiting for you for hours!" scoffed Amalia

"Sorry," laughed Yugo as he scratched the back of his hat "we got a little held up when we ran into some boowolves on the way there." Amalia stared at him for what seemed like forever, making sure he wasn't lying, until finally her gaze softened "Well at least you guys are alright."

"Anyway," started Dally "I'm starving. When's lunch?"

"You Iop-brain. It's already dinner time!" sighed Amalia. After getting their food, the Brotherhood were all sat at an unusually large table. Amalia set down her food and looked over at Eva who appeared to be lost in thought "What's the matter, Eva? You've barely said anything all day."

"It's nothing, really." Eva shrugged as she continued to stare off. At this point, the two had gathered the attention of everyone in the room.

"Are you sick?" questioned Dally.

"I'm perfectly healthy. It's just that,"Eva stopped and glanced at Yugo.

"What's wrong Eva?" Yugo asked innocently, one of his cat-like ears on his hat tilted to the side in confusion. Eva's expression hardened slightly at the sight of this. She had noticed the movement of his ears a long time ago but had always brushed it off claiming that her eyes were playing tricks. "Jeez, if you're going to say something then say it. I have other things to do." groaned Ruel. Eva leaned in closer, inspecting Yugo's peculiar hat intimidating him causing the ears on his head to move back which gave a lot of attention to the others, making everyone, except Dally, stare at his little cat-like ears on his hat. "Why are you staring at me like that? Is there something on my head?" Dally looked around and asked, "What are we looking at?"

"Yugo, why is your hat soaked?" Eva said avoiding the real question she had meant to ask. Yugo gulped, this can't be good.

"We were bathing just now so of course it's wet."

"You didn't take it off?"

"Why are you asking this?"

Eva took a deep breath and was about to ask her real question when Amalia barged in and asked the question that had been on everyone's mind ever since they saw them move "Why do those little ear-thingys under your hat move? Do you have something under them?" Yugo's face briefly showed a look of shock before he calmly smiled and said "Hey it's late, why don't we go to sleep?" It was evident he did not wish to share. Eva didn't want to continue pry in fear of the conversation turning into an argument so she agreed. "We will continue this tomorrow."

The next day, Adamai was walking down the halls of the castle when he suddenly bumped into Dally, Eva, Amalia, and Ruel who were all looking very puzzled when suddenly Eva's eyes lit up as she reached for Adamai. "Good morning, Eva!" Adamai said.
