FADE IN:
INT. CLASSROOM 1965 - DAY
RICHARD HAYES, a younger looking man(30), very handsome with
a nicely combed head of black hair and a clean beard, is
PACING around the front of his classroom with a ruler in his
hand. On the chalkboard behind him, there is a whole mess of
formulaic symbolic intentions, with lines drawn connecting
each bit to another. He SMACKS his ruler against the part of
the board labeled "Attention", dragging it across to the
other key words as necessary.
RICHARD
So! As you can see, attention to
our daily opportunities gives us a
chance to create new and exciting
paths to go down. But why go down
multiple paths, if you are just
trying to find the one.
Richard smacks the word "One" which is smack dab in the
middle of his crazy matrix that he drew up. Everything ends
up connecting to it and it is circled heavily.
RICHARD
Attention, opportunities, different
paths, desires, intuitions. Every
important aspect of your day that
you use to get by. But I tell you
this, unless you can tie it all
into that "One" thing that means
something to you, that one part of
yourself that you just can't live
without, then you simply cannot
begin to grow. (beat) Does everyone
follow?
A classroom full of third graders sit in their seats and
have their mouths wide open, staring at their teacher. A
little girl in the back of the class raises her hand.
RICHARD
Yes Tiffany, a question?
TIFFANY
Can I go to the bathroom?
Richard looks back at his messy scrambling on the board and
gives a small CHUCKLE. He turns back to her and nods his
head.
RICHARD
Of course. Make sure to sign out
and take the pass.
Tiffany smiles and gets up from her chair, skipping over to
the front door. As Tiffany grabs the pass and opens the
door, a woman, SUSAN, is just walking into the classroom and
steps to the side to let the little girl run by. She looks
at Richard and is smiling.
SUSAN
