"Achoo! *sniff*" Today is Thursday and you know what was worst? Y/N is supposed to be at school and have their exam in Math today. No. She was now confined in her bed and laying curled on her bed. She wasn't the type of person to have a very strong immune system and she knows this but instead of keeping behind the line and making sure she was far from getting sick, she stayed under the drizzling rain at school for their dance practice and because of the having no roof on their court, look how it turned out for her.
She kept sneezing as she buried herself more in her sheets hoping it would lessen the coldness she was feeling and cussed at herself for being having such a weak immune system. Y/N's parents were out for work. Despite that her mom volunteered to stay and take care of her, she replied instead saying that she could take care of herself and that the soup that they made for her was enough.
She had a brother but she knew he wouldn't be able to help because he was already busy with working as a nurse. He didn't live with them anymore and stayed at an apartment near the hospital he was working at. To be honest, she was more closer with her brother rather than her parents and she always misses him at time like this because he was the one who looked out for her when she is not feeling well.
A sudden jolt of pain shot through her head and she couldn't do anything but bare with it and hopes that she falls asleep to forget of the sudden pain. Her eyelids became heavy and just as she was about to fall asleep, she heard her door open. She took a close peek to only have her lights opened feeling her eyes blinded by it.
"Y/N? What are you doing hiding in the darkness?" Said Woojin. He held a duffle bag on his shoulder ah his face showed complete worry. Y/N gave a glance at his brother with slight confusion and answered with a raspy voice.
"I'm sick."
"I've heard. Mom and dad told me." He said putting his bag down on the ground beside her bed and sat on her bed. "What I meant was why do you need to be under the darkness? Why did you get sick in the first place?"
"I got wet by the rain yesterday because *cough**cough* we were practicing for our dance and our classroom was at use by the PM shift so we stayed at the court." She said as she tried to snuggle into his older brother.
Woojin sighed at her reasoning and caressed her hair softly. "How many time do we have to remind you that you're body is not that strong. You know you can't just go around and dance under the rain. Look at what happened!"
"I know, I know, no need to nag. Please just keep quiet and keep the lights close. They're practically burning my eyes out." Another sigh was heard before the warmth beside her disappeared. She whined loudly and called out for Woojin who closed the light.
"Oh stop whining you big baby. How can I close the light if your laying on me? And besides I need to change out and prepare your medicine and food." He then headed out of the room.
-o-
Moments late, Woojin returned with a tray in hand containing a bowl of soup, a glass of water, and some medicine. He saw Y/N sleeping soundly while cuddling her compilation of stuffed toys. He swears that his sister just grew by height and not by mentality.. He smiled and proceeded in sitting beside her and waking her up.
"Y/N, wake up. Eat and drink your medicine." Y/N stirred and slowly opened her eyes. She sat up with the help of Woojin as he fed her little sister.
"Why are you here by the way? I though you had work today until late midnight?" Asked Y/N as still being fed.
"Well mom and dad called me yesterday saying that you're sick. They knew you wouldn't want them to stay so they asked me instead." He said with a smile. At times like this Y/N didn't know whether she should thank her parents or get angry that they decided to disturb Woojin.
"And you said yes?"
"Of course! I wouldn't be here if I didn't right?" He placed they now empty bowl down and continued talking. "Don't worry I've been planning on a week long break because it's tiring to work 24/7. It's just earlier than I expected. And besides, hearing my only baby sister dying? I don't think I can't live without saying goodbye first." He earned a hard slap on the shoulder and their laughter erupted throughout the whole room. It was fun being like this. Just like when they were kids.
Ever since Woojin got a job and moved out they never really got anymore quality time with each other anymore. Usually Y/N would me morphing and cussing that she's sick but this time she was more thankful than angry. If she didn't get sick she wouldn't have had any chance meeting his brother again.
After making Y/N drink her medicine, Woojin was about to leave when he was stopped by none other than his baby sis.
"Can you stay with me please? I miss you so much." She said with pleading eyes. She knows he can't say know to that so he placed the empty bowl and glass down along with the tray and closed the lights before laying down beside Y/N, hugging her tightly. She wrapped her arms around Woojin's waist and snuggled her face onto his chest.
"Thank you. For being here. I love you." Said Y/N in a whisper and drifted off to dreamland. Woojin smiled and gave her a peck on top of her head.
"Love you too sis." and followed her into deep slumber
