Whilst Dorian stared down at me with a look of deep concern- I couldn't stop thinking about how warm I felt. And I mean really, really, really warm.

Perhaps it's because I'm completely naked, in the arms of a gorgeous vampire who just so happens to think the world of me...

Nope it's definitely not that.

I frowned, confusion setting in when I realised something was incredibly, and seriously, wrong.

Dorian was analysing my every facial expression, and I had to pull my eyes away from his- to look down at myself.

I strained my head forwards and looked down at my bubble-bath covered body.

Oh thank God for the bubbles. Being naked in front of Dorian would really just make things awkward- now isn't the most romantic of moments.

The water had been relatively cool earlier... but now I had the uncomfortable feeling of bathing in almost boiling water. I looked down at my hand that was peeking out of the bubbles and wiggled my fingers- testing myself. It was odd because my fingers felt the same temperature as my body that was submerged in the hot water. Shouldn't I be cooler where my skin touches air?

Even my neck and the top of my chest that were exposed to the air were burning up....

I stared at the point where Killian's knife had pierced my skin- the black wound stark against my pale alabaster skin, directly over my heart. The black, charred, burn-like mark was a lot larger than before- and spreading, almost like a drop of ink on damp paper. My normal skin around the wound was flaking like an old, weathered, oil painting- revealing horrible charred flesh underneath. Black veins radiated from the wound and I swear that I could see the darkness spreading, slowly, even with my human eyes.

I gasped and quickly brought my hand to my chest and if it wasn't for Dorian's arm behind my neck I would have sank into the deep water of the bath tub. Impulsively I brushed at my skin with desperation to get rid of the mark. Instead more of my pale skin flaked away...

I screamed loudly and panicked, using both of my hands to pull at the stain. My violent movements caused the water in the bath to roll back at me, and as it made contact with the dark mark it sizzled and sent ribbons of steam into the air.

"Get it off! Get it off!" I screamed, irrationally clawing at myself. My nails broke my delicate skin and a thick black substance oozed out from the scratch marks.

"Victoria calm down! Victoria!" the desperation in his voice broke through my panic but I couldn't calm down.

"Get it off!" I screamed, scratching harder at the mark.

"Victoria you're going to hurt yourself!"

I blindly thrashed in the water- terrified that something evil was consuming me... tearing me apart.

Dorian's arms appeared out of nowhere and I screamed louder. For a second they had looked like Killian's arms, with his claw-like hands reaching out to grab me.

"Don't touch me!"

I moved as far away from his arms as possible and shut my eyes as tightly closed as I could- taking deep breaths to try and calm myself down.

"I'm seeing things. I'm... I'm feeling things. Something is wrong with me and I don't know what. Right now the skin around my neck is peeling... there's a horrible burn covering my chest and I don't know if it's real. I mean rationally, you would have said something to me if it was really there. But what if you can see it but you're not saying anything? How do I know I can trust you?!" I babbled.
