Welcome to your life
You'll see the doctor now.
At three you'll get your first
Prescription of pain.
Oh, you're eight already?
Time for your first shot of shame.
Don't worry, it'll be nothing by the hundredth time.
Ah yes, I see you're in sixth grade.
I prescribe depression,
Check back in six months to see if it's right for you.
Seventh grade already?
Let's add some anxiety,
See how it goes.
At thirteen we'll give you a shot of apathy,
Along with occasional injections
Of an intense desire to take action.
Check back with you in a few months,
Make sure it's all going smoothly.
