Barbara sat on a rock at the edge of the clear water, looking down. She stirred the cool liquid with her toes. She enjoyed the peace and quiet. She hummed a melody under her breath. She stopped abruptly when she heard a strange gulping/sloshing noise coming from the water. And that's when she saw it. There was a creature amerging from the surface of the water that she had never seen before. Its skin was leathery and gray. Water dripped off of it. The creature had no eyes whatsoever, only a gaping hole where its face should have been. Razor sharp teeth lined the hole. The creature was taller than anyone she had ever known. It had knarled toes and sharp talons. It let out a screeching noise and lunged at her.
