Stans pov

I stood up from the bed. Taking off my backpack and leaving it on my bed while walking over to the window. I looked outside. The sky was grey and it was slightly raining.

Knock knock

"Hello I'm Lauren, ill be your nurse." a short dark haired woman said walking into my room with a clipboard. She extended her hand to shake mine.

I looked at her.

She dropped her hand and continued to talk while I sat on the small couch that sat in front of the window.

"So this is all you brought?!" she said with a smile and a questioning look while looking at my backpack that was on my bed.

"Yea, no I dont plan on staying very long," I say to her with a positive voice.

She seemed confused. "Are you parents downstairs?" she asked keeping that same smile on her face.

I stared at her. I really had no words. I fell into my own little world thinking of what to say, before snapping myself out of it.

"No." I didn't look away from her eyes.

She looked away from me. "So......you ready for the grand tour?"

Kyles pov

"OMG dude you are such a camper. That was all pure luck." ike said throwing his controller onto the chair next to his.

"Plus I let you win, you charity case." ike said sitting back in his char.

"Sure," I said rolling my eyes smiling.

"Welp I'm staying until 9 tonight." ike said looking at his phone. "Mom can't make it."

"You know in some cultures its ok for a teenager to be alone for a couple hours," I say with a small smile.

"Oh please, you would be board out of your mind if I wasn't here." ike says acting as if he offended. "Plus mom and dad dont need to feel so bad about working."

"And it's the perfect operitonitty to steal painkillers," ike said lighting the mood.

"Are you high?" I ask laughing.

"No?" ike says back playfully.

"Those are for me, "I say throwing a pillow at him. "You know what would be good for you?" ike say catching the pillow.

"Hmm," I reply.

"Getting laid, " he says. Which i immediately laugh at. "I'm serious," he says

"You know this chick I'm seeing might have a friend..or a brother," he says smiling

"And I read somewhere that cancer was a major turn on."

Yea he's stoned. "Like you read. And yea im sure pitty sex on a hospital bed is a turn on. Thanks but ill pass." I say sitting up. Crossing my legs.

Stans pov

"So you can run the world with this," Lauren says handing me a remote.

"It adjusted the lights, the tv, and even the blinds. Also, I'm sure you know how to, but if you decide you want to bring more stuff, like a gaming console, we can get it set up for you."

I stared at her.

"Oh and a patient left this blue tooth speaker, so I thought you would want it," she said handing it to me trying to obviously be nice.

I take it not thanking her.

"Did this person like die, "I ask bluntly.

She stared at me with that same smile. "Well get this place feeling as homey as heck. In no time."
