When I finally reached the entry to the castle, I saw just how unsafe things still were. People were running; only now it was in silence as if they didn't want whatever was attacking the crown to find them. Worried glances were etched in their faces as they ran further away. I tried to walk calmly, listening for further signs of danger. Most of the windows had been blown in,and a few pillars were knocked down, making me question if it was safe to walk the halls. By the time I got back to my room, Thor was approaching from the other end of the hallway.

"Lady Frey! It is not safe here, we must move you," Thor said. There was a large amount of pain in his voice.

"Are you hurt?" I said my eyes widened at the state of him.

"I have a couple of minor scrapes — nothing to be too concerned about. The dark elves have returned for what we stole from them. My mother did not fare as well as I," Thor said while ushering me inside my chambers.

"Please let me tend to your wounds," I said motioning for him to sit on the edge of the bed. I knew by the tone in his voice he had meant that his mother is not still with us. I held my hands above each cut in his skin and felt warmth usher out of them. I had only used my magic one time. It was to save my mothers life. Someone or rather something had come to the house speaking in a language I did not understand. My father was shouting, and all the stress made my vision blur. The last thing I remember seeing was my mother bleeding beside me. The magic came at a burst that day, just radiating from my body. I could now practice in short little bursts.

"You did not tell me you had learned magic," Thor said as I finished up. My dress was filthy from all the dirt and debris that had fallen in prison.

"I haven't really. I had one bad experience that brought it out, and I haven't been able to do much more than what you just saw," I told Thor as I walked toward the closet.

"Perhaps my brother can help," Thor said which made me chuckle.

"Do you really think that's a good idea? You wouldn't want two tricksters around would you?" I asked Thor. "Speaking of Loki, are you going to tell him?"

"I will have to. It's better to hear it from me instead of a prison guard," Thor said standing now.

"Let me change and come with you. He has requested that I bring back books," I said.

"You have already been down to see him? I thought we agreed that you were going to wait for me to join you," Thor said sounding like a disappointing dad.

"Curiosity got the better of me. I also wanted to get an impression of him for myself without your warnings clouding my mind," I told him.

"Well, what's done is done. Be quick changing. The sooner Loki is informed, the better," Thor said. I quickly changed into a pair of black pants and a loose fitting green shirt. These had to be Loki's clothes that are left in here. Still, it was more comfortable than the dress I had on earlier.

"Let's go," I Said while trying to picture my favorite novels in my head. If I focused hard enough, I could feel them materialize in my hands. No one said one word to Thor or I while we walked. We weren't even met with resistance as we walked into the jail. The chilling quietness was discomforting to me.

"Brother, Human. After all this time you've finally decided to visit? Have you come to Mock?" Loki asked shooting me a look telling me that he knew why we were both here.

"Enough trickery Loki," Thor said with an authoritative voice. The thin veil that was hiding the scene I had seen from far away vanished. Thor was faced with a cell that was destroyed. His brother slumped down on the back marble wall.
