CHAPTER 1: Glimpse of Fate
Roses are red, skies are blue. The cool breeze of air went gushing in my cheeks as I watched the sun slowly setting in the horizon. I have to admit that I mostly enjoyed the sight of it. Since I was young, I have been raised in the city where I couldn't even enjoy the sight of such sceneries. Now that time had made its own way of finding what I have longed for, I felt the need of making the most out of it now. So I never missed a day without even watching the gleaming rays of the sun as it sets.
But this day was a different one. I felt like I'm dying. Dying inside because of some reasons I can't explain. My body felt so weak and I can barely move. I think I'm paralyzed. I was lying on the same spot where I was watching the sunset. Suddenly, I felt something was moving beneath the grass. Then in a split second, I saw the silhouette of a tiny creature with flapping wings on its back. I thought I was daydreaming. A fairy? The thought of it went inside my head. Yet I considered the fact that fairies only exist in fancy fairytales. So I ignored what was going through my consciousness. A few minutes later, everything went black. I can't see anything. Then I slowly regained my sight.
I found myself seated in a garden, reading a book. I felt totally confused. Was I here the whole time? But no, this place seems to be in my memory. I looked around. A figure sat near the pavilion directly facing the Grand Hall. It was a man. He looked at me, then smiled. I found myself staring at him for a moment. I couldn't resist smiling back. His eyes were like the stars and his smile was captivating. For a minute, I felt awkward. So I took my gaze off him. I went on reading the book with confused thoughts. That man looked familiar. I stood up and walked towards the pavilion only to find no one. I ran inside the halls of the mansion, hoping that I might see him and get a chance to talk to him. There was no sign of him. I felt disappointed and walked my way back to my room.
