My breathing was heavy as I ran into the woods, my light brown hair flowing behind me. I was running from my cousin, we where playing hide and seek. The trees towered over me, birds swooping from branch to branch. I paused and looked behind me; no sign of him. Good. I was tired so I took a break.

I sat by a a tree, it was about medium sized compared to the others. The trunk was huge, with mushrooms around it as if they where protecting it's roots. The sun shone through the leaves above. It was a beautiful evening and I was glad I had met up with my cousin to enjoy it together.

After a few minutes, I decided to stand up and go hide because surely he'd almost be done counting. He probably cheated, as usual. I sighed and began to walk forward, when I heard something behind me. I spun round, could he have found me already?! That cheating rascle: remind me to never play this game with him again!

Only he wasn't there. "Sam?" I called out. No reply. "Samuel, I know you're there!"

Still no reply. Maybe it wasn't him, but one of the rabbits or birds. I turned back round to the direction in which I was heading in the first place, only to be startled by a gory looking creature.

"Aah!"

I woke up with a startle. It was just a dream...

I lay there in my bed, sweat covering my sticky body. These dreams happened a lot lately, I don't know why.

"Sweetie is everything okay?" My father entered the room, hot chocolate in one hand and coffee in the other. "Here, have some of this."

He handed me to hot chocolate and I eagerly took it from him. Since these dreams where frequent, he had developed a routine. This was a moment for us to discuss my horrors. One of the little times we actually communicate: he's too caught up in all his work and that.

"I'm fine thanks. Just another nightmare."

"What was it this time? An evil witch envying your lovely locks of hair, or a massive bear wishing you dead!" He chuckled. I giggled and shook my head no.

"Close, it was a horrid creature out to get me in the woods! I was young, playing with Sam when it popped out of no where!"

He sighed at the mention of Sam. "You should get some rest Alice. You need it, okay? We can discuss some other matters later if you'd like."

I took the last sip of my hot chocolate and handed the now empty mug to my father.

"Good night father."

"Sweet dreams sweetie."

Hm, I doubt it.

Well! There's the first part. It gets better, I think..In my opinion which is TOTALLY not bias. ;) Make sure to comment any thoughts, and if there's any mistakes don't be afraid to let me know. :) And maybe voooote if you liked it. :D
