okay, first of all, think about our oceans, and our lakes, and our homes. the water we drink, the food we eat... what do you see? do you see a good happy home, with friends and family drinking sparkling clear glasses of fresh water and eating yummy homemade food? or do you see a large ocean, with bottles and toilet paper and tissue boxes and garbage strewn throughout the waters? and a family sitting around a table, glasses filled to the brim with brown, foggy water with little bits and pieces of plastic and cardboard strewn through it. how do you think this happened? think long and hard about it. us. people. human beings. we did this. we made our planet filthy and we are the cause of more than one type of pollution. our oceans. our fields. our air. our lives. we ruined a once beautiful planet. we. did. this. we are to blame. not stress. not one person. not anger. not sadness. we are. this planet... is our home. though you may think you have a backup planet in case you ruin this one. you don't. you don't have a second earth. you don't have another chance. you only have what you have. this. this is what you have. there is no paradise somewhere in the great big galaxy with huge crystal clear waterfalls, and blue oceans, and unicorns swimming in sparkling rainbow waters... there is only this. us. now. think twenty or fifty or maybe even one hundred years from now. what do you see. do you see anything? anything at all? if we continue like this, our world will no longer exist. there will be no us. there will be no earth. no humans. no water. no paradise. no people to come up with technology that makes food and water and lives materialize from thin air. no people to fight against pollution, against people who take for granted what we have. people. us. we are the problem. we did this. most out there will just ignore this. say whoever wrote this is a stupid little kid with a small mind. they will say this is a waste of battery power. well, to those of you out there, if you think this is a waste, look in your garbage. go to the beach. look in the water. can you see the bottom? can you see anything? i couldn't. most of us who care, can't see the bottom. we can't see a beautiful future with beautiful water and beautiful earth below our feet. we can't see a future. we can't see a beach. we can't see a garbage. or maybe that's all we'll see. garbage. coating whatever is left of our planet. i say our planet, but it does not belong to us. to humans. we don't deserve it. we are simply borrowing it. and when you borrow something, you have to give it back. we are borrowing earth. and if we wreck it, there is no giving it back. there is no getting a new one. there is no replacing what cannot be replaced. we say we have once-in-a-lifetime experiences. earth is a once-in-a-lifetime, once-in-many-lifetimes experience, that we cannot have twice. once. that is how many life times we can have it for. once. one. we are told not to waste our experiences. then why? why are we wasting this one? maybe that's just the reason. those who say why not. well i may be just one little girl in a world of many little girls and boys. but... i ask... why?
