How did this happen? Where did it go wrong?

The day started off normally, just (Name) having breakfast with his boyfriend of 4 years Leon Kuwata. The silence brought (Name) comfort as he chewed his food and Leon quietly sipped at his coffee. Looking back (Name) wished they had talked about a bit more. A few minutes later and a cup of coffee later Leon finally spoke "Hey cherry?" Leon spoke gently, the sweet sound of his voice saying the other male's nickname made him perk up a bit. (Name)'s eyes met his with a small smile danced it way to his lips. "Yes?" (Name) questioned moving his (hair color) locks from his eyes. "I know we said we were going to do our weekend ritual today, but since it's a warm day and we both are off work today, which we both know doesn't happen often enough... I thought we could maybe go out on a date like we used to." He said his tone as sweet as it could be. Yeah he was a cocky person, but Leon could be a perfect angel sometimes.

"That'd be pretty cool, but what if we get swarmed by your fans?" (Name) had always been a bit paranoid when he was out with Leon in public. Sure Leon was out and proud, he had been for a very long time, but the fan girls and the homophobic baseball fans always had him a bit worried. (Name) could always feel the silent stares, he hated it but he loved Leon, so he put up with it. Maybe he should have spoken out, but it was just another secret in the books now. "Don't worry about that, I'll take us somewhere where it'll just be you and I, no one to interfere or scare us." He said as his smile basically lit up the room. (Name) had no idea that he was going to propose that day. He had no idea that on the way that truck would hit them. He didn't know he would be released before Leon was released. He didn't know that the day after Leon successfully proposed that the next day he'd be gone. He didn't know that the news would deliver the blow about it, and he had no idea that the girl driving the truck wouldn't have been caught till a few weeks later.

But he did know one thing that day, and it was that his life would change for better or for worse
