I got into my truck to go to work when I got a call from my boss.
"Hey Ryou, do you think you'd be able to take over the graveyard shift tonight? Emily can't make it."
I, being the nice person I am, accepted. "Yes I can take over the graveyard shift tonight."
"Great! I'll let Emily know her shift is covered, do you just want your shift off for today? To make it easier?"
"Uh sure that would be great." I got out of my truck and went back inside my house. I decided to go into the kitchen and make something to eat, when the doorbell rang.
"Who wants me now?" I muttered to myself. I walked to the door and opened it to see my best friend Kristy.
"Hey Ryou!" Kritsy said before jumping on me to give me a hug.
"Uh hey Kristy. What's up?" I asked while giving her a hug back.
"Oh nothing, just this." She exclaimed while holding out her left hand and looking around like there wasn't a big ass diamond ring on her finger.
"Woah!! Kristy, where'd you get that chunk of diamond??" I asked in surprise.
"Remember Daniel?" I nodded. "Well he proposed last night and well here I am telling you!" She squealed which made me flinch a little.
"You mean to tell me he finally grew a set and asked you? After all that he did to you?" She nodded as I shook my head. "I can't believe this Kristy, but I hope everything goes well."
She smiled and then asked, "Well enough about me, how about you? Got anyone special in mind?" She giggled.
"Not yet, but I was thinking of someone last night, but I'm not sure what she'll say." I sighed.
"Oh come on Ryou, don't look so down"
"How can I not feel down? What if she doesn't accept what I am?" With Kristy as my best friend, she knew what I was and hasn't told a soul, not even her now fiancé who she tells everything to.
She huffed and crossed her arms. "Well she'll have to figure out at some point now won't she little dark angel?"
"Shhhhhh!!!!!! Get inside now if you want to speak of what I am!!!!" I pulled her inside. But as you can tell now, I'm a dark angel but it's not all what you think. Being a dark angel isn't about being an accomplice with the devil. We are actually angels from heaven but are the only ones who can survive on Earth, unlike the light angels who have to go back to heaven after they visit Earth.
Kristy snapped her fingers in my face. "Were you even listening to me?" I stared at her with a confused look. "Boy how I would like to hit you. Anyways, I was saying...." She stopped talking when there was a growl from upstairs.
I looked up to see one of the faces of my dogs, Eragon and Sephira. "Hey Sephira, come here girl." I looked at Kristy and she seemed horrified, I had forgotten to tell her I had gotten a couple dogs. But they weren't any ordinary dogs.
"Kristy, I want you to meet Sephira. Eragon is upstairs sleeping like usual." Sephira trotted down the stairs to my side and growled again at Kristy. "Easy girl, she's a friend."
"Uhhh..... Ryou, what kind of dog is she?" Kristy asked with a tremor in her voice.
"You should know how much I love demon dogs Kristy." I spoke as if nothing was even wrong.
"I think it's best if I go now Ryou, bye." She bolted out the door without a glance back. Sephira finally calmed down.
'What's gotten into her?' I thought to myself, momentarily forgetting Sephira was right there.
'Her true nature is afraid of demon dogs.' Sephira explained as if it was obvious.
I snapped my head towards her, remembering then that demon dogs could read minds.'What are you talking about Sephira? She's human.'
Sephira chuckled. 'One might think so, but in truth she is not.' She laid down with her muzzle resting on my feet.
I looked at her with curiosity. 'How do you know for sure Sephira?'
She pawed at her nose to remind me. I shook my head and got up. "Well I might as well go upstairs and get rest for work tonight." I said out loud to nobody in particular.

This is my first book that I'm starting, but what does everyone think so far? I won't be able to upload frequently cause I still have yet to figure out where I really want this to go.
