Chapter Twenty One

Jenna P.O.V

As soon as school was over I met up with Rocky and we dashed all the way to Melody’s house. She sent me the message that was sent to her. I can’t believe Ross would do that. We knocked on her door and her dad answered. 

“Hey is Melody home?” I asked. “Yes she is. Just go upstairs into her room.” He replied. “Thank you. C’mon Rocky.” I said as I grabbed his arm.

We rushed upstairs and went into Melody’s room. She was sitting on her bed and staring at her phone. I walked towards her and grabbed the phone away from her and saw the picture. I handed the phone to Rocky so he could see. 

“I can’t believe he cheated on you.” I said. “It doesn’t matter anymore. I’m just going to end everything with Ross.” Melod replied. “Don’t do that. Melody there has to be an explanation on why he did that. Did you talk to him yet?” Rocky asked. 

“No not yet but-” “Melody! Ross is here!” Her dad yelled interrupting her. “Oh no! What am I supposed to do!” She panicked. “I don’t know. Talk to him!” I said. We heard footsteps coming upstairs. “Jenna let’s hide in her closet!” Rocky whispered. I nodded and we went into Melody’s closet. 

Melody P.O.V

Ross walked in my room and sat down next to me. “Hey babe. Can we talk?” He asked. “Sure. What ever.” I said. “I think I know a way for you to perform for the Moonlight Jam.” He smiled. 

“Really Ross? That’s what you wanted to talk to me about!” I yelled. “Uh yeah. Why?” He asked. “Ross, I know what you did! I can’t believe your not even trying to tell me about it!” I yelled. 

“What did I do?” He said softly. “You kissed Jocelyn!” I yelled. “No, Melody I didn’t kiss her!” He yelled back. “Oh really? Then explain this.” I said as I handed him my phone.

He looked at the picture and I saw a tear crashing down on my phone.

“Do you want to keep lying to me about this or tell me what happened?” I asked. “She kissed me.” He replied. “Ross, I know Jocelyn and obviously she kissed you! All I want to know is that if you kissed her back.” I said.

Another tear escaped from his eyes.

“Did you kiss her back?” I asked. He loooked into my eyes and nodded. I think I felt my heart drop. “But Melody I did stop. I realized what I was doing and I stopped. You have to know I do love you.” He said. He came closer to me and pulled me by my waist. 

I pushed him away. “Ross you cheated on me. How can I make sure you won’t break my heart  again?” I asked. “Melody I really do love you. I can’t risk losing you.” He said. 

“Ross I’m sorry. I just think we need a break.” He looked at me with tears pouring down his face. “Melody I’m sorry. I promise I won’t break your heart again.” Ross said. 

“Ross I can’t take that chance. You need to prove it to me.” “I will! But if you break up with me how can I prove it?” He asked. “Ross, I’m sorry. But we’re done.” “Melody, don’t. I love you too much.” He replied. 

“If you love me you wouldn’t have cheated on me.” I said. He grabbed me by my waist. “I love you.” He said. “If you love me so much then you would let me go.” I answered. “But I can’t.” He replied. “Ross I’m sorry. But we’re over.” I replied. “But-” “I want you to leave now.” I said interrupting him. 

He let go of me and walked away. I sat down on my bed trying to fight the tears that wanted to come crashing but sadly I was to weak to fight them. 

I heard my closet door open. I looked up and saw Rocky and Jenna step out. 

“I remember when you told me that Ross was the best thing that ever happened to you.” Jenna said. “Yeah I remember that too.” I said.

“Did you just break up with the best thing that ever happened to you?” Rocky asked. “Y-Yeah. I guess I did..”
