I walked into my doctors office and checked in with the lady at the front counter. "You can take a seat and we'll call you when you're ready."
I nodded and thanked her before going over to the sitting area. I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my twitter. A lot of people had been tweeting about me lately. Some really awesome stuff and some really not so nice stuff. I guess that's the price you pay when your boyfriends fan base consists of mostly young crazy girls. I rolled my eyes and I scrolled through the many tweets calling me names and saying I wasn't good enough. Don't people have better things to do with their lives?
"Autumn Grey?" I heard my name being called and I piped up.
"That's me," I said smiling at the nurse. She lead me to the back and asked me to step on the scale. My eyes widened as the scale, it read 97.3 lbs. The nurse looked down and quickly typed into her laptop before gesturing me to follow her into a room. She closed the door behind me and I took a seat on one of the chairs. She sat next to me and took my blood pressure and temperature and wrote it all in.
"So I just have a quick paper for you to fill out and Dr. Sarah will be with you shortly." She handed me a paper and smiled at me before walking out. I filled out the paper, answering the various questions I had filled out a hundred times before.
Do you have trouble sleeping? Never/sometimes/often/always
Do you think about harming yourself? never/sometimes/often/always
The questioned stretched on down the paper. At the end you had to calculate your numbers never being 0 sometimes being 1 and so on. My numbers came up all 3 and 4s putting me at severe depression. "Bingo," I whispered rolling my eyes at the paper.
The door opened and my doctor walked in giving me a small smile. "Hey Autumn, it's nice to see you again. It's been a while."
"Yeah... I was doing great for a while. I was off my meds and I was happy but I've had a lot of shit going on in my life lately that I guess I can't manage to handle all on my own."
"What's been going on, if you don't mind me asking."
I explained to her everything that had gone on over the past few months and she listened intently nodding every now and then. "Well Miss Autumn, it sounds like you've definitely got a lot on your mind lately. I'd like to start you up on your old medication because that seemed to actually work for you. We'll start you on a lower dose and build it back up in your system until you're at your former dose. I'm going to do a little lab work though, I know you're depressed so you probably aren't eating like you should be, but your weight has me very worried. So, we're going to go to the back and have some blood drawn up, just to see if there might be any underlining causes behind your weight loss. I doubt there is anything seriously wrong but we're better safe than sorry."
I nodded and got up to follow her to the back room. She said goodbye to me and ask me to make an appointment a month from now before leaving me in the hands of my former nurse.
I cringed as she started to pull out all the stuff she would need to draw my blood. "Don't like needles?"
"Not at all." I squirmed in my chair as she rolled over to me with the needle in hand.
"Just relax your hand and take a deep breath."
I did as she told me and shut my eyes as the needle found my vein. I kept my eyes closed until she was done and had bandaged me up.
"See you took that like a champ," she said with a smile. "We will call you with your results in 3-5 days."
She handed me my patient file and I headed to the front desk to check out. I made my appointment next month. It was two days before I'd be leaving on your with Austin.
