A few seconds later, Shane woke up to see me trying to pump air into his lungs, pushing on his chest repeatedly. You could say I brought him back to life. No problem. Although, I was originally the person who had killed him.
He sat up and I hugged the hell out of him.
"You know how much trouble I would be in if I had to explain to the cops that I killed you with my weight?" I let go of Shane wiping my eyes and he looked relieved as though a weight lifted off his back.
"A lot?" he answered back awkwardly as we had separated.
"ugh." I breathe a breathy sigh. "Haven't cried this much since Christian," I muttered realising this was the second time I cried today. My stomach growled a low note.
"So are we still on for pizza...or what?" I asked genuinely. Don't judge me. I just saved a man's life. I'm hungry.
"Um...sure?" He nodded.
"Kay." He got up after denying my help although I need would probably need to really tug to get him up and we continued to the pizza place a few streets away.
I didn't really complain about the rest our the walk as we made our way to Mario's Pizza.
We sat down in a booth in the corner and I ordered Hawaiian while he ordered Pepperoni and refused to taste mine.
"Have you ever tasted it?" I asked annoyed.
"No. And I don't want to." Shane answered stubbornly biting into his own.
"But pineapple taste so good on pizza!" I whined stomping my feet under the booth and stomping my feet.
"If you say so." He muttered under his breath in his husky voice.
"Just try it. I almost killed you today. Let me repay you with this goodness." I held out a piece to him to try.
"I'll take your word for it." he refused.
"Just take it!" I shoved it towards him.
"Fine!" He took it from me and put it in his mouth, chewing down slowly. His jawline moved in slow-motion while he ate it and it was not a bad sight.
"You're right. It does taste good." he nodded and swallowed the pizza.
"See?" I taunted.
"I never doubted you," he replied.
I rolled my eyes and continue to eat my Hawaiian pizza slice as I kinda stared at his face while he ate but subtly of course.
After eating and throwing away the garbage, we went to the bathroom to wash up and dry our hands to meet outside. I walked out the store, pushing open the glass doors and Shane was leaning against a blue squared table waiting on me.
"Want to go back? To school I mean." He asked.
"Nah," I answered truthfully.
"Where do you want to go?"
"I don't know," I shrugged.
"Well, I do have a place I normally go to. And yes it is cheesy and it is my place to go to think." He replied with a smile which was a rare thing in his regular self and this fact made his smile even more enchanting.
I smiled at his statement and nodded. "Maybe we could go there,"
"Sure, just a few blocks down," he replied.
"If I can make it," I joked. "Let's go."
By the time we had reached, we had rambled on talking about whatever had popped into our minds and it hadn't even felt as though we had already walked three blocks which we did. I was counting.
