The sound of hooves clicks clocking and puff puffing filled my ears. I closed my eyes and saw, well me! Trotting along on my beautiful dappled buckskin Connemara mare, Barley. I loved my horse he was beautiful! He disciplined in hunting, show jumping, dressage, and liberty. He and I were the perfect pair. Till the most horrible thing happened. My parents, they got a job offer to bring their barrel racing carrier to life. But I had to leave Barley behind.

This was the worst moment of my life. Luckily, the place we were moving to had horses, in fact, it was a ranch. My parents made sure to bring my jumping equipment so I could still continue to discipline in jumping and dressage. They also spent a lot of money on a new horse for me, I haven't ridden in a week or two. Barley always had a place in my heart. But let's jump to the present...

The beeping of my alarm clock filled my ears, I groaned at the horrific noise. I reached over and push the button, to shut that thing up. I stood up, rubbing my face. I checked the time, it was 9:00 am. I panicked but soon realized, that I live on a ranch, boarding my own horse. So I took my sweet old time getting ready, per usual. I was brushing my teeth when my Mom walked by the bathroom door." Alyssa, you should start riding again. You'll lose your skill!" I groaned, trying to peacefully brush my teeth. After that, I got dressed and rushed outside. I inhale the fresh air and a slight smell of horse poop. I stepped down, step, by step, buttoning up my flannel shirt.

The faint noise of horses winning reminded me of riding. Soon I was PUMPED to ride again! I rushed to the stable, and said."Hello." To all the horses. I looked for my horse, Brand. A bay Trakehner gelding. He was stunning! I walked over to him, putting my hand out to rub his face. He reached his head over the gate and begged for attention. I gave him many pats and treats. I soon cross tied him and grabbed my tack. I decided to grab my brown English saddle, along with a matching bridle. I made sure he was comfortable with the tack. I also grabbed some complimentary polo wraps and saddle pad. After tacking him up, I lead him out to our indoor arena. I set up some low jumps, just to get comfortable with how he jumps, and get comfortable with his movements.

His first jump was flawless, the more we continue, the better. Later, I see a car pull up. A Jeep, blue in color. Soon after the car come to a stop, I see two men step out. As soon as they see me, they start laughing. The rocks scrambled against each other as they approach."I didn't know girls could ride." They both laugh. I stop."I'd like to see you try." The cocky boy reached out his hand."Try me." I dismounted, handing him the reins. He put one foot in the stirrup, and the horse began to walk away. I began to laugh, his partner as well."Shut up you too!" His partner stopped, I still chuckled. He tried again, successful. I opened the gate, walking towards the jumps. He halted Brand."What are you doing?" I responded, putting my hands on my hips."I'm lowering the jumps. I don't think a beginner can jump, such 'high' jumps." I broke into laughter."OH SHUT UP! LEAVE THEM!" I laughed harder, the jumps remained at 2' 5''. He successfully made all the jumps but one."Not bad." I told him, with my arms crossed, I shrugged. He dismounted, and handed me the reins."Can I see the barn?" He asked. I looked at him with a bit of concern."Sure." I responded uneasily.

We entered the barn. I walked towards Brand's stall. I tied him to a hook near his stall door, then untacked him. The boys were walking around, looking at the stalls. As I put Brand in the stall, I asked them."What are you guys here for?" They both looked at me." We've been looking for somewhere to ride." I looked at them. PLEASE tell me they're not going to stay here. My dad walked into the barn."Aye, boys. Have you looked around?" He asked them. They nodded."I'll go unload your horses." As he was walking out of the barn, he turned."Boys." They turned from me to him. He jokingly said."Don't be getting interested with my beautiful daughter, now." He winked. I smiled at him, then made a shooing motion with my hand. One of the boys looks over at me, looking from head to toe. I turn towards the stall. Oh god. I secretly facepalm. Then I looked up at Brand eating his feed.

Dense hoof noises came from outside the barn, one grey came walking in the arena. My father put them in the stall across from Brand's stall. One of the boys approached the horse, I'm assuming that was his horse. Another horse, with a shiny bay coat, walked in, his stall was next to the other. I shuffled towards them."These your horses?" One of the old ones turned to me."Yeah." I sat looking at the horses, then a thought came to mind."I never caught your names." The one standing to the left of my responses with."Andrew. He's Peter." He pointed to his friend. His friend soon retorted."I think I can introduce my self, thank you very much."

I laughed a bit, Andrew snickers, too. Soon, my mother walked in." Boys, have you seen the loft? That's where you're staying." I soon looked shocked and looked at my mom. She'd turn to the house." Show them around, Alyssa." I slouched my shoulders, protruding to the loft stairs."Let's go." Once we reached the loft, there was to beds wrapped in white comforters. I walked over to the window pushing it open. They sat on their chosen beds, then Andrew stood up." I'm going to go grab my things." They both headed out of the room, Peter seemed shy. I smiled as they walked out, once they exited the barn I covered my face. Seriously? Are they REALLY going to stay here? Barley was too much of a sacrifice. Now, this? I sighed, exiting the loft. I headed towards my house, the boys walked past. I entered, soon walking to my room then flopping on my bed falling asleep right away.
