Eli was in pain. Horrible, agonizing pain. His bottom and insides felt like they were on fire and his legs were like jelly. Not only that, but he was sitting in a pool of his own blood by the toilet in the bathroom and he felt like screaming his head off as his own body seemed to be ripping itself apart, something threatening to come out and kill him in the process.

He didn't know what to do. He didn't think anyone would hear him. His friends were out in town for the night. There was a celebration of one of Slug Terra's most treasured holiday. Eli said that he would meet them at Bull's Eye Cavern tomorrow before the ceremony, only now he found himself in dire need of their help.

While he gasped in pain, he was reminiscing on how this all started on one night several months ago

Eli went to sleep four hours ago after a long day's work. First, Eli had to go to a doctor's appointment made for him by Mr. Sting, Trixie's Father, who's nurse made an abrupt shot on his arm after the appointment was nearly over, claiming it was an advanced flu shot made to work in the bloodstream for two-and-a-half years. Man, Eli thought, How advanced is the science department in Slug Terra?

After the appointment in Mr. Sting's office, Eli went to meet up with his friends for lunch at Ricochet Pizzaria, where they had to stop a burglary right on the spot as one of the customers recently pulled out a blaster and threatened to shoot anyone if he wasn't given the money from the cash register.  Luckily, Mario used one of his trick shots to get the blaster out of his hand in time for him to flee for his life, running into Kord's chest with a loud 'thud' and knocking himself out in the process.

After arresting the perpetrator and having a nice lunch on the house, the Shane Gang went home for a relaxing day of training, playing video games, and eating supper as a family.
