Hey, do you like me? - Part 4

Like every day, woke up at 7:00 am, got dressed, met Kian at the train station, and off to school. As Kian talked about how he was able to clear a level in Fortnite, I half listened and half tried to think of what to say to Reina that day. Should I talk about her hamster? Or not? Ugh, I never knew love was so hard before I met Reina. 

At school as I pulled my textbook out from my locker for first period, I spotted Reina doing the same. I couldn't see her clearly since she was looking down at her books. Then she started to talk with Rachel, I caught her laughing a few times, so I suspected she wasn't talking about her hamster. The bell rang, and as Reina slammed her locker door close, she caught me staring at her. She smiled awkwardly, her dimples showing, then made a subtle waving gesture. For a moment, I was in another world, and as she kept on awkwardly looking back at me, I snapped out of my zone, slammed my locker closed and walked off to class. My face turned super hot, she saw me staring at her for a solid 5 seconds!! Jeez. I glanced behind me and I saw her at her locker looking at me, her head cocked, questioningly.

It was Tuesday, meaning Spanish was second period and English was the last. The bell rang for second period, I scooped my things up and fast-walked to Spanish. I sat down at my seat and as I waited for Reina, I tried to think of something to talk about. After a few minutes, Reina entered the room and plopped down next to me. I smiled at her, one big goofy smile. She responded with a giggle. She seemed like the regular Reina, although I could notice that her eyes weren't as bright as they always are. For the first few minutes, we sat in silence. I didn't know what to say, but somehow, I wanted to make her smile. So, I said,

"That Jonah dude is ugly, he's a terrible singer too." I peered at her face trying to see her face, usually, she would make an 'O' shape with her mouth and look shocked. She did make her usual 'O' shaped mouth face, but something was missing. 

"NO he isn-, wait, did you actually look him up?" she asked, suspiciously. I felt my ears get hot.

"N-no," I responded, trying to not make eye contact. Because when I try to lie to Reina, just by seeing her I can't help but laugh, which reveals my lies. She kept eyeing me, I peered down at her, and I spit out laughing. She giggled saying,

"Ha! You did look him up!!" Great, she found out, but at least she was laughing, and I made her happy again... I think. Just in case, I went on.

"Ya I looked him up, but his songs are so cringey~!" I replied back. Reina's eyes widened and she argued,

"His songs are not cringey, and even if he does have some cringey lyrics, they are cringey in a good way!" I raised my eyebrows, which made Reina burst out laughing. I couldn't contain my laughter either. We both chuckled. The teacher who was writing on the whiteboard, turned around to face us. With a stern look, he told us to stop fooling around and laughing.

After the teacher's warning, I faced Reina to apologize to her, for getting her into trouble. But she was looking up at me with her usual sparkly eyes. She was smiling up at me, her dimples more visible than ever.
