"N-no..No! Please! Please I'll be good! Please!" The screams of a young girl could be heard echoing through The University. The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife. Down the halls, past the library, the training area, and to the stairwell where the scream originated. In fact, almost the entire university could hear her.
Watching the scene with a vacant, cold, expression was one Prescott Adams. He hadn't any sympathy for the girl. In fact, he was the one who ordered this in the first place. She was the youngest. The most moldable. The thrashing and screaming was a common occurrence. Ever since the first few days she spent in the chamber.
Sevens Arbor's expression was a stark contrast from that of Prescott's. Hundreds of emotions were flying across her face at once as the two guards dragged her downstairs, her feet not touching the ground as she kicked out. But it was no use. Soon enough they got her downstairs and past the guard checkpoint to enter the basement. At the sight of the doors to the lab in front of her she let out another scream, this time of determination as she swung her left leg high and to the right. The action startled the man holding her right and he let go out of shock. As soon as that arm was free she forced herself around the one on her left wrapping her arms around his next as tightly as possible. She was small yes, but Sevens Arbor was not to be trifled with. Especially when she was afraid.
Sev dropped to the floor as the guard fell underneath her. Immediately she back into the wall, eyes wide and chest heaving. A few of the guards from the downstairs checkpoint had unnerved expressions in their faces. After all, a 9 and a half year old just took out two fully grown men by herself.
"For the love of- Out of my way." A smooth, silky voice came from the entrance of the lab. A sickeningly gentle smile graced the features of one Evie Adams. She held a needle in her right hand, filled with a dark liquid.
"Now darling~" she purred, giving a curt nod to the guards I block the stairs. "We can do this the easy way where you just come with me and get into that pretty little sensory dep tank. Or," she held up the syringe. "We could do this the hard way."
The woman seemed to have an odd way of controlling the girl. Though upon inspection, it wasn't odd in the slightest. Prescott Adams didn't frighten Sevens in the slightest yet. His daughter on the other hand...terrified her. The child's body moved as if on auto pilot, slowly walking forwards. Tears were streaming down her face by the time she reached the female Adams' side. The woman in particular looked absolutely delighted.
"Good Girl~" she purred, steering Sev into her lab. Evie's Playground. The name was widely known, not just in the university, but in other compounds across the territory as well. It was a name that instilled terror in quite a few fighters, prisoners, and it was even a widespread joke amongst the handlers that the stiffs feared the woman as well.
As the Playground entered Sevens vision, the conditioning already started minutely kicking in. Her steps became less hesitated and her posture righted itself.
"Get her in." Evie's voice rang across the lab, the tone a catalyst hat immediately got the assistants moving. A few thin metal sensors were placed on her body. One on each temple, one over her heart, and two over each of her lungs. Tracking her vitals. Prescott loves his daughter, yes, but if anything happened to his Leviathan he would have her head.
As Sevens was led up to the top of the tank, she gained some of herself back and she steered struggling as the top hatch was opened.
"I....I'll be....be good, I'll be good!" But she was too late to move back, a firm press to her back sending her a few steps forwards before she disappeared in the perfluorocarbon that filled the canister. The substance had been perfected to a tee by an 18 year old Samuel Leon, who had provided assistance to Prescott when he started the Leviathan Project. There had been many before but none had come nearly as close as Sevens to being perfected.
As soon as Sevens was in the tank, the lid shut and the gap of air was filled with the liquid. Reflex had Sevens holding her breath until she couldn't anymore. Her body gasped in a deep breath, the perfluorocarbon entering her lungs. She felt like she was drowning, but she could breath. Her body seemed to thrash around on its own in a deep panic until, suddenly, she went still breathing heavily as the liquid completely filled her lungs. And then nothing.
The tank was completely soundproof. Dark. Sevens was suspended in the liquid, keeping her sense of touch muted. Soon enough she was entirely numb. As the hours passed, her mind slowly got more warped. It felt like ages. Anytime she almost fell asleep, the tabs on her temple would send shockwaves into her head, jolting her awake. Another hour..two...three....it was impossible to know.
Finally Sevens was pulled from the liquid. As her body hit solid ground she fell to her hands and knees, coughing harshly as the perfluorocarbon was flushed from her lungs by gaseous oxygen. Three minutes of excruciating pain until she stopped, staring at the ground, chest heaving.
Evie smiled and gazed over at her father, motioning him to come forwards and speak to the girl. Taking his daughters prompt, Prescott came forwards, stopping about one foot in front of Sevens. His arms were crossed over his chest as he spoke, plainly, bluntly,
"Your purpose is my will. My will is your purpose. Tell me child, what is your name?" The room was silent for a few moments before a small laugh left the girl. Evie's eyes went wide with shock as did quite a few of the assistants. This was new. Prescott looked absolutely enthralled. A smile crawled onto his face as the girl looked up,
  "My name...is Leviathan."
