Why are people selfish?

I think it’s because they’ve been taught that the earth revolved around them, instead of the sun. They’ve been taught that they are the sun, the biggest thing in someone’s life, and when the sun is not present, dark clouds settle over the person.

Sometimes, people like the dark clouds. People like the rain, some people, at least. But people who believe the earth revolves around them believe that rain is bad, and that the dark clouds are all the evils in this world, and that if somebody liked the dark clouds, then that somebody is a bad person.

In reality, the person that likes the dark clouds likes the clouds because they don’t want to spend their time revolving around a sun. They don’t want to spend their time wasted on a single person, when in reality they can spend their time being like rain: Falling on everyone and everything that the dark clouds cover. Those people are selfless- they share their rainwater with everyone they can. Without rain, there could never be rainbows, but without the sun, artificial light can replace the sun to make rainbows with the rain.
