"Miss Im. Im Nayeon."
The teller in the 3rd desk announced. Nayeon walked over to where the counter is and received the paper held by the teller. She bowed and murmured 'thank you' before leaving the hall and went to the nearest bathroom she could find.
Her heart and stomach seemed to released all the zoos inside of her as she was taking deep breaths while looking at the papers in her hand.
This wasn't an ordinary piece of paper. In fact, in those paper lies her future - it was the university exam results.
Truth be told, Nayeon wasn't in her best self nor state of mind while taking the exam. She did not even reviewed. Why? She recently broke up with someone a week before the exams. Needless to say, she was beyond broken and convinced that the guy didn't just broke his heart, but her soul as well.
Yet, she still want to be accepted at her dream school and relied on her luck while taking the exam. So with trembling hands, she teared open the white envelope to know the results.
Her eyes can't seem to focus for the first few seconds because of the nervousness she felt. She closed her eyes and did a five-second mental count before opening her eyes again.

Nayeon did not bother to finish reading the letter as a squeal of happiness escaped her mouth. She did not even realized she was squealing and jumping at the same time, until one of the cubicle door opened and revealed a woman - panic visible in her face.
"Why? What happened?!" The woman inquired holding to her non-finished pants.
Nayeon felt a wave of embarrassment and guilt and hurriedly bowed to the lady a couple of times.
"Oh, auntie, I'm so sorry. I was excited."
Nayeon was already red from disturbing the lady in her business inside the cubicle."Yah, who gets excited in a public bathroom huh? Tss." The lady remarked before closing the cubicle door with a loud thud.
Nayeon knocked her own head while exiting the comfort room.
Stupid Nayeon. She thought.
Nayeon stayed at the cafeteria and called her best friend.
Calling God Jihyo...
"Hello? Nayeonie?"
Jihyo picked up from the first ring and Nayeon smiled with her friends tone. It was laced with concern. Nayeon didn't tell Jihyo when her exam results will be, but based on the latter's tone, it seems like she knows when after all. Well, she isn't God Jihyo for nothing.
"Hey can you pick me up? I'm still at school." Nayeon emotionlessly said, though she was screaming inside at the thought of pranking her best friend.
"Okay, I got it. I'll be there in ten minutes." Jihyo answered.
Jihyo was her best friend for as long as she remember. They already exists in each other lives since their diaper days until the present. They are confident that they know each other inside out and they're convinced they are each other's soulmates. Honestly, Nayeon is more closer with Jihyo than her parents and she was sure that Jihyo is the same.
