Chapter 8

"Oh with who?" He asked. "My brother and his best friend" I said. "Hmm makes sense" he replied. The train came and we got on. I was up against a wall as Akiras chest was pressed against mine. My head to his neck level. He had his right hand holding onto the wall by my head. He was looking at his phone in his left hand. It was right next to my shoulder. That was good since my face was definatly red. I looked at the ceiling in hopes he wouldn't notice. In hopes I didn't look like a complete tomato. That would be the most embarrassing thing of all. I always get embaressed when I'm close to people. "Catherine are you okay?" Akira asked. I covered my face by putting my hands over my face. "Yes just really hot in this train car" I said. Akira shook his head. "If you say so Catherine" he said patting my shoulder.

When the ride ended we got off and walked. "I have some errands to run. Would you like to join me or do you need to be home?" He asked. "I can come with you. But I was wondering if you'd like to meet my big brother at some point. I think you two would get along" I said looking away nervously. "Yeah I'd like to meet him" Akira replied. "Really!?" I asked. "Yeah. he just woke up from a coma right? I think he should be able to meet his sisters friends. Just so he can make sure your around people he wants you to be" he explained. "Well I guess your right" I said looking away still. "So what errands first?" I asked. "Well. I need to go get some things for you know what" he said. I nodded. "Alright. Is it shady? Do I have to cover my identity?" I asked giving a goofy smile. "No. You should be fine" he replied. He gave a faint smile as well walked. We stopped in front of an gun shop. "Totally not shady" I said glaring at him. "Okay maybe a little" he said. I sighed and pulled a hoodie from my back pack. I kept it in there for reasons like this one. I put it on and put the hood on after putting my hair up. We walked in and I stayed right behind Akira.

"Its you again kid" the guy said. Akira just nodded. "Who's this you got with you?" He asked pointing to me. "Oh someone was following me" Akira said turning to face me. He gave me a small nod to play along. I widened my eyes as if I was shocked and was about to take off running but Akira grabbed my shoulder gently. "Sorry sorry! I was only curious about where you were going!" I said making my voice sound panicky. I was always a good actor. Akira took off my hood and sighed. "Oh its you" Akira said. "Who is it?" The guy asked finally looking over. He looked shocked. "Why would the daughter of a business man follow you?" He asked Akira. "Oh she's my friend. She's the only person who was willing to talk to me when I got transferred to the school" Akira explained. "You followed him why?" He asked me. "Curiosity. I always wondered what he does after school. Now I know what. So I'll be leaving" I said quickly. I was going to turn to walk out the door but akira put an arm around my shoulder. "Nah you can just hang out with me" Akira said. "Besides I can use your opinion" he said dragging me to the counter. We looked at everything. After getting what was needed we walked out. We got far enough away and He chuckled. "Your an great actress" he said. "Say that to yourself. You totally had me fooled. I honestly felt like I acctually had followed you" I said laughing a little. "You had me fooled. I actually felt like you were trying to leave like you had been caught stealing or something" Akira said putting an arm around my shoulders again. Our faces pretty close as we died down from laughing.  

We stared into each others eyes as we had stopped walking. We both looked away quickly as my cheeks got red. "Oh um. You should get home" I said nervously holding my arms. "Alright. Let me walk you home" he said taking my hand and dragging me to walk with him. We walked in an silence that wasn't to bad. I let him lead me by the hand with a soft smile on my face. We got in front of the apartments and I made sure to stop him from walking. "Its right here" I said. He turned and looked. "Alright. Well guess we part ways here for today" he said. "Yeah. When's the next time your going to run errends?" I asked. "Well depends" he said showing me a big smile. "Alright. Should I come with you next time?" I asked. "You can if you want" he replied. I nodded. "Alright. Ill see you later" I said waving bye as I went inside the apartment.

I walked to the door and opened it. It was unlocked like I thought it would be. One of the boys must be home. I walked in and clsoed the door behind me. "Welcome home Catherine" Aketchi said. He was sitting at his table doing something. "Hey Aketchi. What are you up to?" I asked. "Just some work" he mentioned. "What work? Is it confidential?" I asked. "Not really. It's all over the news" he said. "Oh is it work on the mental shutdowns?" I asked. He looked at me. "Your being awfully curious today" he mentioned crossing his arms. "Well that's because I wanna learn to be something more than the daughter of a rich man" I replied. "Very well. Help me solve this case however you want to help. Just dont get caught" Aketchi said smiling. "And while your at it. Make me pancakes" Aketchi said. I could tell he was trying not to laugh at my dumbfounded face.
