"Can we please watch something else? This is the fourth time we've watched Elf, and it's November first."

Summer just looks at me and sticks her tongue out. "No. I like this movie. And you know as soon as it turns 12 am on November first, that means Christmas time. Which means holiday movies and decorating!"

She had already taken all of the Halloween decorations down and brought the boxes of Christmas decorations out. I roll my eyes and smirk to myself. "Ok whatever you say sweetie." She smiles and presses play for the fourth time. "Want some cocoa?" I look up into her beautiful blue eyes and smile. "Sure. Thanks." She kisses my forehead and moves into the kitchen. "No problem Sammy, my pleasure." My cheeks heat up at the nickname, and I pull my flannel tighter around my body and pull my knees to my chest on her couch.

Thinking she's out of earshot, I start humming 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' to myself.

"Haha! You're in the Christmas spirit too!"

I nearly shit myself and jump ten feet into the air. I whirl around to see my girlfriend with her face contorted in what looks like a joyful smile and clutching her stomach and giggling like she just saw the funniest thing she's ever seen. I try to hold back my laughter and fail miserably, throwing my head back and chuckling "You're the worst, you know that?"

"Yet somehow you still love me."

I sigh over-dramatically and smile. "Sadly yes."

She smiles and hands me my hot chocolate, planting a small kiss on my cheek. The drink smells of cocoa and cinnamon.  "You're lucky you're cute." I sigh, just now catching my breath fully from the scare and the laughing fit. She smirks and kisses me again this time on the lips. Her lips are soft, and she tastes like peppermint. I grab her chin lightly and smile. "Maybe starting Christmas this early isn't so bad." She sticks out her tongue at me. "Told ya." I just roll my eyes, get up, set down my hot chocolate and help her decorate.

We end up spending the whole night putting up lights and little snowmen and a small winter village. Lastly we put up a huge tree that was at least 7 feet tall fully decked out with lights, tinsel, popcorn strings, and bulbs in gold, red, and green. It was the second most beautiful thing I had ever seen. "Wow. The two most beautiful things I've ever laid my eyes on in one room" I whisper to myself. Out of the corner of my eye I see Summer smile and blush and I smirk to myself and put my arm around her waist, pulling her close to me.

She looks up at me, the lights making her eyes shine more than usual "Hey we forgot something." I look down at her face and raise an eyebrow "Oh? What would that be?" She smiles so wide that her eyes close. "The star on the top of the tree!" Glancing at the tree, I notice that the topper of the tree was, in fact, missing. "Oh. You're right." She practically skips to a box on the far side of the room and pulls out a shiny gold star. She looks at the tree and frowns. "What's wrong love?" She looks at me distraught "I'm too short... I can't get the star on the tree. I guess I have to go get a chair from the kitchen." I grin and start moving toward her "Come here." Before she can say anything, I hoist her up onto my shoulders and bring her to the tree. She screeches and giggles "What the hell Sammy?!"

"Come on just put the star on!" I feel her move forward and I tilt with her, careful not to let her fall. "There!" I feel her move back fully onto my shoulders, and I kneel to let her get off of me. "Good job love" She smiles and puts her arms around the back of my neck. "Thanks for the lift" I lightly wrap my arms around her small waist, interlocking my fingers at the small of her back "Anytime love"

Almost like the closing scene in a movie, we share a perfect soft kiss in front of the beautiful sparkling tree. I think this Christmas is going to be the best one yet.
