As a child back in twenty-twelve i was moving in from a small town to a big city.it was new to me and i was very curious, but also at the same time, very scared. Scared of going to a new school, of meeting new people.
As i sat there looking out the window with buildings passing by i kept wondering what was to come next. after a few minutes we pulled into the driveway of our new apartment. as i got out of the car, i look around and saw many kids running around playing games of pretend with eachother.
i was tempted to go say hi, but then they randomly started to stare at me with their bug eyes.
from my quickly rising anxiety i then looked at the ground. my mother was not fazed by the childrens eyes as she walked with perfect posture, a sheet cake, and me following close behind. i snag another glance up at the kids again only to see them running away to God knows where.
i focus back to the ground and continue to mindlessly roam but, was stopped by my mum when she also came to a halt. i stepped back a bit as she unlocked the door, balancing the sweet welcome treat in one arm. as we ambled into the small apartment she told me to go explore around and pick the room i wanted.
as i hiked up a good half of the stairs i got startled by a spider resting on the wall.
luckily, i caught my balance before i could fall back down the steps and stood there for a few seconds. i took a deep breath and walked a good distance away from it, along with giving it a hard glare, as i made my way up the rest of the stairs.
when i reached the top i looked to my left to see the bathroom. i made my way towards it and turned on the lights. i looked around, it was cramped and didn't have much.
a simple white tub and toilet with the classic sink and mirror.
the walls and floors were made from a saturated tile. after observing the area I slowly made my way to the tub.
i turned the tabs to see which one is hot and what one is cold. after a test run, i felt the water. it was warm and felt nice on my chilled fingertips.
satisfied by my experiment i turned the water off and made my way out of the bathroom and towards a different door.
i opened the door slowly, foolishly cautious of what might lay inside. it was a relatively small room, probably the size of an large closet.
i take in the new space and found a closet. i opened the closet door and --surprisingly-- it was almost empty and pretty clean. the thing that really caught my eyes was a small stuffed animal. i picked it up to observe it.
it was quite dirty and most likely carried many germs in its plush so i put i back in it's place.
after shutting the closet I made my way to the last room, which was bigger then the rest. i saunter into the room at the pace of a snail and noticed a bit of bugs creeping around in the dark crevices of room.
however, despite the nasty insects and strange aroma there was item in the chamber that stuck out to me, and that was a nice considerable rectangular window. it's border was neatly painted a soft baby blue and covering it was a thin see-through white sheet. for sheer curiosity and child wonder I leisurely make my way to the glass view point.
I pull back the probably disses ridden curtain and gasped at the live portrait before me.
it was certainly a sight to behold; a fine clear sky with particular shaped clouds. you can just barely see the park through the tops of the ever green trees.
it felt like I was gazing out the magical framework with pane for hours before I was to be distributed by a familiar voice. i snap out of my haze to hear my mom's shrill voice shouting for me. "ISSAC, GET DOWN HERE!" was heard from the first floor.
