Medusa has always been different to the other children. If she completely covered her head and wore dark sunglasses, she could easily pass as normal. However under her hair wrap lies a deadly secret. She has snakes for hair and piercing, yellow snake eyes. Nothing happened to make her like that, she was born that way, luckily her abilities only manifested when she reached 13 years old. Her mother named her after the Greek mythological creature, believing her to actually be the real Medusa. 6 years after Medusa was born her mother died of a brain tumour and because her father didn't want a freak for a daughter, she was cast out. Little Medusa was found in a dark alleyway, feeding her snakes, by Director Nick Fury of SHEILD. He took her in at first because he believed her to either be a danger or an asset but it was soon realised that this little Medusa was nothing like her mythological namesake. She was sweet, kind and caring and she melted the heart of every agent that met her, including the notorious Black Widow. At 13 she killed someone. All that happened was that he looked at her and he immediately turned to stone. This happened 15 more times over 3 years before SHEILD realised that her abilities would never be controlled and the only way she could prevent people from becoming statues was to cover her head and eyes. After she got used to hiding her hair and eyes, Medusa was released from the SHEILD facility and she moved back to Hell's Kitchen, the place she had left 21 years ago. She got a job at a small cafe and found a cheap apartment. She discovered that as long as her hair was covered she could take off her glasses and vice versa. This made it easier to live a normal life because now she didn't have to wear her glasses all the time. It proved to be helpful in making new friends as she met her next door neighbour, Claire, a nurse at the local hospital. What happens when she stumbles across a blind vigilante in her dumpster that she can fully be herself with without hurting him?

This is Natalia Vodianova and she is the best example I could find of Medusa that was in the right age range and the snakes actually looked semi realistic. However her whole body is like a snakes apart from her head but the Medusa in this story won't be like that, she will have a human body.
