hazel eyes//hazel highs

it might go unseen

what you look like to me

stunning imagery

of soft cheekbones and whitened teeth

you'd never guess

how I forget to breathe

 but I'll never know

who you are outside of a dream

wishes of these months

 won't leave my burning brain

since this past July

I guess things haven't been the same

don't ask me how

 I know your middle name

it's strange you don't  know

how your laugh just makes my day

hazel eyes

hidden in soft disguise

hazel highs

buzz through my body for the whole night

she deserves much more

 than simple words

no poetry can tell

what I'd give to be with her

these lines will do all they can

 to put you on display

velvet and silk threads

feelings more fragile than paper mâché

you're just a moment in time

that I'll never hold

it's foolish that I thought

I'd earn your heat of gold

we won't stay here for forever

I'll have to toughen up my stance

but the reason you may never know

is 'cause I'm too scared to lose my chance

grace is such a simple name to speak

but sounds so enticing to me

I still think it's funny

how you're so cluelessly too good for me

you seem too unreal

gorgeous, tall, and kind

you can't really be true

just a muse in the back of my mind
