"Jaquan" my mama yelled from the kitchen."yes ma" i answered while walkin to the kitchen, "Jaquan I want to talk to you " she said with her voice full of sadness. "What want to talk about mama,"I said "I want you  to stop being in the streets, didn't  you see what dem yanks did to your father "she said with tears running from her eyes "sorry mama but I'm not ready to leave the streets and you already know I cant leave even if I want to, its zoe life or no life"I said to my mother with annoyance in my voice "Jaquan just dont die on me ,your the only family I have thats still alive" she said with a worried look on her face. "ight ma ,i'll think about it" i said leaving the house.

    I drove my car to school thinking about what my mama said. I love my mama, she's the only family I have. My pops got killed trying to protect me from a street battle against the yanks. Since that day I swear on my life that I'll avenge my father death.

   When I arrive to school, I parked my Benz Mercedes on my parking spot. I got out the car and i saw my closest friends. They are David ,Milton,Calvin,Ronald, Joslin and Whitley. "sup yall" i said to them as I walked up,

"where have  you been bro?"calvin asked
" yeah where your ass been Quan"Milton followed
" i had a little talk with my mama I answered, "

"gave the guy a break y'all", joslin said in my defense

Those people are my day one homies .They have  always been there  for me. Their all haitian except Whitley, she jamaican. They are my ride and die.
