I wake up around six, giving me two hours before school starts which is more than enough time. When I open my phone I see Jacob has sent me a playlist and a text, saying he will pick me up at twenty to eight. I agree and have a shower, listening to the playlist he sent me. It all seems to blend smoothly into each other, once out of the shower I realise it's all from one band. I listen to it as I get ready and I go downstairs for breakfast."Excited for school?" My grandma asks as we eat.
"Yeah, obviously a bit nervous too about getting around but yeah, it will be fine." I say, finishing my apple. She nods and I give her a smile as I go back upstairs to pack my bag. I don't have to pack much since I don't have my books yet but I get it ready with my laptop, spare charger, keys and pencil case. I brush my teeth and just as I start chewing gum I hear a car horn. He is just on time. I shout a quick goodbye and run out of the door.
"Hey, you ready?" Jacob asks as I get in his car.
"As ready as I will be." I say honestly. He laughs and starts the drive to school. "Can you go over our back story again? I don't want to mess things up." I say.
"We met in a bar, we don't remember the name. We connected over the music then you showed me around London. I kissed you in the London eye and we spent two days walking around London drinking and getting to know each other before I had to leave. I mean, as long as we only talk about things in each other's presence and stick to the basics at all other times, we'll be fine." He says. I nod and take a deep breath. "You'll be fine, we have the same classes this morning and we are going early to meet my friends, they're nice and will probably share classes with you too." He says. I smile and nod. He pulls into a petrol station and goes to the air pump which is further behind the building so it's more private.
"Do you need air?" I ask.
"No, I just wanted to make sure you're okay." He says. I smile and look out of the window.
"I haven't been to normal school since I was eleven, this is really scary." I say, tapping my leg and biting my lip.
"Why not?" He asks, putting a hand on my knee and rubbing it soothingly. I smile and take another deep breath.
"It was just better, we lived so far away from school so I was home schooled." I say shaking my head a little. "I hardly remember normal school." I say, calming down a little. Jacob smiles and runs a hand through my hair.
"I'm here, what kind of fake boyfriend would I be if I wasn't. And believe me, five minutes after we get there you will feel much better." He says. I smile and nod, finally calm again. "Just wondering, are you sure I can't kiss you yet?" He asks playfully. I laugh and roll my eyes a little.
"I suppose, it will make this more real." I say. He smiles and leans in, not wasting anytime. He holds the right side of my face as he kisses me, it is sweet but lasts a good minute; he was right, he is good.
"We're going to be late; I still have to meet your friends." I say, pulling away from his lips. He chuckles a little and pulls out, driving another two minutes to school. We go to the very front of the car park where most of the cooler, sleeker looking cars are. We walk out and meet at the front of the car, he takes my hand and we walk up a slight hill and walk towards a long picnic type table with people sitting all along it. I look around at the people either staring or just glancing every few seconds, I clear my throat.
"Do people usually stare?" I ask, holding his hand closer to me so we stand closer.
"It will fade by Wednesday I'm sure, you won't notice it soon." He says as we get to the table, I turn my head and see a group of about seven people, more stand around.
