Chapter 50

Katia told Liam what had happened with their 'parents' and how Frankie and Janice weren't their biological parents. She showed him the pictures of their mother and he couldn't believe how much she and Kaia looked like their mother. Summer had the same smile as Kaia but he wasn't going to tell that to Katia.

He asked her what their next plan was. Were they going to look for their father? Katia told him she was leaving it up to Kaia. A part of her didn't want anything to do with him. She was content with how her life was going and she wasn't sure if she wanted any new conflicts or hassles.  He had chosen to not even acknowledge their existence. Leaving their mother to die alone. But deep down she knew that Kaia would want to search him out. Even though she had lived a pretty shitty life in foster care, so did Kaia until she'd been taken in by Jim and Kelly and then met Marian. She knew that Kaia had always been searching for something in her life.

Liam told her that they really should set a date for the wedding and set their final plans into motion.  He too wanted to get married and get on with their life.  He was also anxious to get back to England.  Deep down he knew that Marian was going to be okay.  She was getting stronger every day according to Harry.  But now with these new revelations about their real father, he had a feeling that Katia wasn't going to be keen to leave Kaia anytime soon.

Kaia was incredibly nervous about having lunch with Janice.  She was still feeling very overwhelmed about finding out that she wasn't her real mother.  She told Katia that Destiny wasn't feeling well and if they could postpone the lunch to which Katia gave her an eye roll when she knew darn well that Destiny wasn't sick.  She texted Janice to let her know.

Can we postpone lunch for a few days?  Kaia says that Destiny is sick and she's a nervous Nelly when any of the kids are sick.

Janice read the text and she could read between the lines and had a feeling that Destiny wasn't sick.  She in a way did understand Kaia's apprehension with everything.  Of course.  I hope she feels better soon.  Text me or call me when you're both available.

Kaia felt bad that she hadn't talked to Marian in several days so she decided to text her and see if she was up to lunch.

 Hey, I'm sorry I haven't talked to you lately. So much has happened that I need to tell you. Are you up to lunch sometime soon? 

Marian looked over at Harry. He was consulting with the crew and charting their voyage home.  She showed Harry the text.  "What should I say?"

"You need to tell her something or she will begin to worry," he said.

"I know, I know," she sighed then thought for a moment.  " I'm not going to tell her."

"Well then go to lunch and have a good time with your friends before we head off to our new life," he said with a gentle smile. 

"Okay, I'll go to lunch with her." She nodded

 I'm up for lunch. When and where? Harry says he can drop me off.

How about Spago? Tomorrow. About 1 That way it's kind of close to home if you get too tired.  Kaia texted her back.

Spago sounds good. I'll google the menu, see if it's changed.  We haven't been there in forever.  I'll see you tomorrow my friend.   Marian replied.

"Alright, I'm meeting her tomorrow at one. Do I like Spago's?" she asked her husband.

"I believe so.  It's been a while since we've been there," He nodded. "Faith and I will go and meet Captain Nick. See how things are progressing with our plans for our trip. You are certain you want to leave?" He asked.
