"Annie, you have to agree. You don't have any choice" mom said in a very aggressive voice.
I was starting to get angry with her being so pushy about me, marrying a guy whom I never knew my entire life.
"For Christ's sake Mother, this is 21'st CENTURY, fixed marriages are obsolete" I nearly screamed in disapprovement.
My mom was still furious.
"what kind of a mother would want her child to marry a random guy she doesn't know?. If dad finds out about this--" I was about to finish my sentence when she interrupted.
"It was your father's order"
"Are you kidding me? This can't be happening. Daddy loves me so much that I am 100% sure He can't do this to me" I said in a very confused manner. I was getting a little bit teary when my mom tapped my shoulders.
"Sweetie, we just wan't the best for you. And, he's not just a random guy. A lot of people know him. I assume you don't since you don't listen to music that much but I'm pretty sure you're gonna like him"
I just sigh and stoop a little bit more "This can't be happening" I whispered to myself."
I was so focused on hating the guy that I didn't realized mom was handing me something.
It was an envelope.
I opened it and saw a picture.
It was a guy's picture. Pretty HOT I must say. He has golden brown eyes and a tanned skin.
"He's name is Zayn, Zayn Malik. He's from a band called One Direction, They're pretty famous" Mom informed me proudly.
I was about to say something but she talked continually "I need a photo of yours by the way. Zayn's parents asked for it. Make sure you look good"
Now this is good. He's cute. I could date him but MARRY HIM?
This topic needs a little bit more deliberation and a whole lot of pursuation.
I cleared my mind and asked mom seriously "Well, If I'm gonna marry this guy. May I know WHY and WHEN?"
Mom's face suddenly looked a lot brighter (she might think the guy's face changed my decision but it doesn't change anything)
She cleared her throat and started to explain.
"Ahm, Remember Grandpa Felix? Your dad's father?"
I nodded
"Well, He lived in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England and their he made a deal with his "bestbud" to arrange their grandchildren in marriage and that bestbud was Zayn's grandfather. Honey, this is your grandpa's deathbed wish. Your dad is still there finishing your grandpa's funeral. So please agree. There's no other grandchild. You're the only single grandchild your grandpa has. The rest are married or else too young. After you High School Graduation. The wedding will take place"
I felt my tear crashing down. I was pretty close to my Grandpa. So, I might as well do this for him.
I finally agreed and mom told me to go to my room and get a picture of mine and put it an envelope to be send to Zayn and his family.
I went upstairs and checked some photos.
and then an idea hit me.
"I'll agree with this fix marriage thing but I might as well have a little fun with my groom to be"
I grabbed the picture when I was in a school play wherein I was wearing a dreadlock wig and a large glasses and a matching fake mole placed in my midlle forehead. I looked HIDEOUS.
I should probably give my bestfriend Jhudie acknowledgement. 'cause she did a very great work. It looks so natural.
Zayn will freak out seeing this picture.
I went down and gave the envelope to my mom. I sealed it with glue so it wouldn't be opened by mom.
She looked at me suspiciously and said "no funny business?"
I strongly denied and said "No, Ofcourse not Mother"
Then I went outside and went to Jhudie's house.
....
