a shotgun scattered us around
a crashing noise was clear and loud
big enough for me to know
that i've got into trouble, oh no
i tried to look for a place to hide
but it was too late, i'm easy to find
put on an armour like i'm going to war
where's the man that i thought you were?
we are divided in two sides
and i'm in the middle of the fight
now you're acting like a hurricane
not giving a shit about who you're putting in pain
and i defended you from the smithereens
in return, you aimed your venom at me
no, no, i won't let you do it again
you're shooting everyone down
tell you what, you're building up a fallout
chaos surrounds us like a shadow in the night
but we won't go down without a fight
i entered the room and you looked away
i bet you're looking for support on my face
you won't find it, not anymore
i always fell in love with the danger
but somethings can't be painful
and i won't fight, so you can't break me up
you wanted me to turn my back on her
but i didn't, i don't like getting people hurt
but you showed who you really were
if you expect me to break down crying
you thought it wrong, so stop trying
i'm silent, but you have a fetish for fighting
you're looking at me like i killed someone
i try to avoid it, i don't want to go down
and i'd very much like to stay out of this
but if i have to, i'll rewrite this narrative
i won't let you hurt everyone i love
and i won't hesitate to break it up
i'm here, resting my head on my hands
silent as the dark night, but i'm aware
i'm not the one who broke the engines
just one twisted word, a single mistake
it's all it takes to blow a relationship away
like a white new dress getting wine-stained

smithereens.
Poetrymy 7th collection of poems is mainly about how much your actions can affect the people around you. i used the metaphor of a glass structure crashed by a gunshot. the pieces hurt everyone involved, including the person who pulled the trigger.
