A tall man entered the bar. He was handsome, but his eyes were sad. Anybody looking at him would know the cause of his visit. And anybody looking at him would want to acquaint with him too.
As numerous interested eyes landed on him, the man inspected the area for a place to sit.
Definitely not with the ladies. His eyes landed on an empty seat next to a guy slumped over the counter, who looked asleep.
He slouched his way to the empty seat and sat with a thump.
But that didn't gained any attention from the next person.
"Give me the strongest one you have", said the new arrival. He sighed and bowed down his head.
He doesn't want to see anything or anyone. He doesn't want to smile, he doesn't want to talk.
He just wants to forget.
But strangely, right when you want to get drunk, it evades you.
After finishing his fifth glass for the evening, he laid his head on the counter too.
It hurts, too much.
Go away.
Just go away.
Please go away.
He can't take it anymore. Anymore than this, he'll never be fine again. He clutched his chest as if his heart was physically aching.
Why, he murmured.
A tear slid down his face, then another, and another, until it became a stream.
He sobbed silently. As crying loudly was not in him. His vision blurred and his throat felt so choking.
Then he heard a sniffle, which was not his. He raised his head a little to look at the source. It was coming from the person sitting beside him.
Now that he looked closer, he was shaking a little too.
Poor chap, like him. He thumped his head down again.
But then noticed, that his neighbour's knees looked wet. He observed him again. That person too, was shedding silent tears.
His tears, which when fell, were pooling on his knees and making it wet.
He felt a strange empathy for that person. So he took out a handkerchief and tapped the other person's shoulder gently.
The said person raised his head slightly to look at the intruder.
"Take it", he requested softly.
After a long moment, the slumped person got up, and took the handkerchief, albeit hesitantly.
Mopped his face and gave it back.
"Thank you", he whispered and looked at the kind person, and was taken aback.
But not by his beauty. Sure that person was very handsome, but what was unexpected was the miserable face matching his.
Red, swollen eyes, tear stained face, and an expression, as if the end of the world.
"Heartbreak?", He asked.
In answer, the other person just nodded.
"Mine too", he said again.
They ordered a fresh set of drinks, and started sipping it silently, but this time, both awake and aware of each other, feeling a strange companionship.
"He likes pink milk so much", the first one said and smiled fondly, as if remembering something.
The second one looked dazed for a moment and then said, " he does too"
"He is so adorably cute"
"He is without a doubt"
"I wanted him so much", the first one started sobbing again.
The second one started sniffling too," I gave it my all"
" But he broke my heart"
"And chose another"
"P'Arthit", whispered the second one.
"Wayo", whispered the first one.
After they have calmed down a bit, they got up to leave and headed to the exit.
As they parted, the second one spoke up, "umm...wait"
The first one stopped and looked back.
Gone were his usual confident and charming self as he shuffled his shoes while speaking,
"Do you want to go grab an iced coffee sometime?"
The first one blinked his eyes and then replied," sure, thank you...."
"Kong", the second one said offering his hand.
"Phana", said the first one accepting his hand.
They looked at each other, and cracked a smile for the first time that day.
