It all started this sunday morning.
On my way to my favorite coffee shop, I ran into my best friend from high school Jimin.
Back then, we were inseperatable. Since we had the same classes, we got really close to a point we talked about everything. A lot of people in our school actually thought we were dating, but it was never like that. We were like family.
After graduation, we had to go on our seperate ways as we both studied at different colleges. We didn't lose contact though, we just saw each other less. That did not change the fact that we were dear to each other. So running to him was always a pleasant surprise.
"Well look who's there! Missed me already?"
Surprised, he turned around and faced me.
"Hey! Long time no see! How have you been?" He hugged me and we both smiled.
"Great actually! Work's good and the place is just beautiful! How about my Jiminie? How come you stopped by my fav coffee shop?"
"We got into business with a firm two blocks away but I didn't expect to find you nearby since you live kinda far."
"Well, not anymore", I replied, "I moved in two months ago with my boyfriend, Jungkook, at this neighborhood."
"Oh that's awesome to hear! How are things between the two of you?"
"It really seems to be working out. We both share the same vibe."
"He then must be as crazy as my bestie."
I tapped his shoulder. "Hey you!"
He laughed at my facial expression. "Got some time? Let me treat you to some coffee."
"Deal. Choose a seat."
"The usual?"
"You know it."
Soon, he returned with our coffee.
"Sometimes, I really wish we could go back to the easy times when all we did was fool around." Jimin said with a playful yet kinda nostalgic tone.
"I couldn't agree more. I mean sure, life's good, but I miss them too sometimes."
"Yeah..."
I changed the subject since we haven't spoken in quite some time.
"So how is your life now? What is my energetic guy up to next?"
He laughed at what I said. "Weeell...So many things actually! I don't know where to start from."
"You got lucky then, cause time is not a problem today. Come on!"
We discussed for some time. Jimin told me all about his plans, goals and private life in general. I was so happy that he was doing remarkably well. That and the fact that we had the oppurtinity to talk about it just like the old times.
"So yeah. I'm also thinking about going black again."
He combed his thick shinny hair back with his hands. That was so Jimin. That simple move had all of the girls dead back at high school. No wonder he was among the most popular guys there. He did not lose his charm. Same old Jiminie. A sweetheart but with looks sharp as a knife.
"You literally rock every single one of them. Can't decide really." I played with his hair and we both laughed. He then gave me a warm brotherly hug, while playing with my hair as well.
It was at this moment my eye caught Jungkook.
I don't know whether he noticed me or not, but he was looking kind of cloudy. That serious face he always kept when something was off. He stood in line quietly on his phone.
He couldn't have seen me, he would have stopped by. He knew how much I loved that place and that this would be one of the first places to look for me when I wasn't at home.
I woke up early, but he was sleeping so peacefuly that I didn't wanna wake him. He was looking like an angel getting some rest. The sun was piercing through our bedroom window, and its rays were shedding light to his beautiful traits carved into his soft face and cheeks. He could make my heart melt even when he was sleeping. His black silky hair was slightly messed up, making him even more adorable. I pecked him lightly on the cheek, leaving our bed to dress up and start my day. About 2 hours must have passed.
He was looking so good in his total black look. He must have been waiting for his latte. We like our coffee the same way; not that sweet, but creamy. He seemed kinda impatient and concerned. However, as soon as he turned around, I realized that it was not simple impatience or worrying.
We locked eyes for a good three seconds and I could feel it. He was burning with anger.
His intense chaotic stare pierced through me and I sensed his particular vibe. His fire.
His eyes were so special. They had the ability to transmitt the most intense feelings. From genuine happiness or love to lust or anger. And everything in between. He could make you feel so many things just by looking at you. Even from a distance, I felt the tension rise up on the atmosphere. He then walked out as if nothing happened.
While doing so, he created a loud noise by throwing something away at the metal trash can next the door.
The situation was off.
"What was that tense glare for? Do you know each other?"
I sighed.
"That was my boyfriend Jungkook. And that stare was directed to me I guess."
