We took in our last breath of football field air and made our way down the bleachers, past the forest-like school garden, the window of the Teacher's Lounge and to the Locker rooms. I went to my locker- 15, grabbed my towel, underwear and a pair of pants. I took a quick rinse and put my clothes on. Back to my locker, I hung my towel, took out my duffel bag, threw in my used outfit, dug out a fresh white shirt, socks and sneakers.

I put it back in the locker and made my way -again- to my next class which would be.........

Algebra. Damn High School.

..but what I saw past class 315 B's windows made my eyes sparkle. It made me stop at my tracks. And I smiled at the sight past the swooning girls.. actually, the only one not taking notice of me.

How could you be so cruel, Camms?

"COOL-DRE!" Cole called from across the hall.

I plastered a smile on my face and looked at him, mocking.

"LORD COLE!!!!" I called back, chuckling.

I could imagine the faces of those crazy girls. Psh. You'd wish I'd name you too.

"You up for Algebra?" we high-fived as he came near. Now, we were shoulder-to-shoulder.

"She's here.." I said between my smile.

He just nodded and chuckled "then we'll make her notice".

Then, we barged into the room.

Girls were holding back their squeals. Psh. No interest in you.

Other girls held their boobies up and bat their eyelashes at us. Eck, disgusting.

I hurriedly took the empty seat beside her.

"Hey Camms" I beamed at her.

Ok guts, hold on.

Damn this panic in my head. Ackkkkk.

"AJ" she nodded as she looked into her bag.

See? See that? EVERY SINGLE TIME.

BUT WAIT.. (>////////////////////<)

Camms........ <3

"You've never called me that since we were kids!" I grinned happily.

"Seriously, bro? AJ?" Cole stiffled a laugh.

She just rolled her eyes, "Doesn't your mom call you that?".

"Home's a long way down the road, Camms.." I sighed.

She slightly nodded. "How's Marilyn by the way? I haven't heard from her in a long time.." she asked as she finally took her phone out.

I shrugged, haven't seen mom in months either. Don't even know what she's up to.. Maybe I'm gonna call her later when I get to my pad. "It's been three months since she's been in Washington, perhaps. They're working on something new with the government and the Air Force crap".

"Soooooo~ CC" Cole called from behind us.

Her head slightly jerked up. Damn it, COLE?!?!?!?!

"What do you want, Nicholas?"

"At the end of the month we're - the entire football team- will be throwing this party for our next quarterback.. How 'bout you.. in that flowy sundress at my backyard, having a good time with some barbecue?" he offered.

You really serious about this bro?

"C'mon, think about it" he beamed.

I was quite hopeful. I was watching her eyes. Those gorgeous set of blue orbs just popping out of those silky brown locks. Promising, yet dangerous. But now, they were hesitating.

The boys are throwing this party out for me. The new quarterback. Ready for the championship game. Ready to go national. I'm gonna be the one bringing the team on to a whole new level.

And this would be a huge responsibility- yet again.

AND SHE WILL NEVER..

"I'll check my schedule" she concluded, ignoring our epic attempts.

..GIVE ME A FUCKING CHANCE.

Kill me now.
