Chapter 6: Unexpected

***Autopsy***

It's been a few hours since my mental breakdown. The whole office probably knows about my black eye and the murderer my ex-husband is. I am in autopsy trying to get my eye to stop swelling. The guys have put a BOLO out on Jake and haven't found him yet. They won't find him, I just know it. He shows up when you least expect it.

Abby was down in autopsy lecturing me about not telling anyone. "Bishop, this could have been bad, you could have gotten a concussion or worse..." Abby says in her concern state.

"Yes, Ms. Eleanor, we are your family and we are here for you," Ducky says getting the swollen down on my eye, with some ice. It was now just black and blue.

"But it wasn't anything worse. I am fine, really." I say to the two concern parties.

Jimmy was standing there just thinking about how screwed up this world was. His daughter, Victoria, was just born a few months ago and she was his whole world. He has seen everything but knows with one of his teammates hurt, he doesn't want to let his daughter out of his sight.

***Bullpen (9:00 pm)***

As I expected, no one found Jake. He was in the wind, he probably skipped town. Gibbs was on his 4th cup of coffee today. McGee has been hacking anything that could be hacked in the last hour. Tony was being Tony, cracking up jokes trying to keep morale up.

I walk into the room and everyone shuts up and turns towards me. Tony stops crackling up, McGee stops hacking, and Gibbs... Gibbs just looks like he wants to punch someone. I personally want to also.

"Find anything?" I say in the most cheerful fake mood that I could create. Tony and McGee both turn towards Gibbs who says, "You heard her Update!?"

McGee and Tony jump right up. "Well, Boss," Tony starts with the clicker. "Jake Malloy, 32, no kids, and married to Taylor Mathews. Previously married to Eleanor Bishop." Tony says with the last part being a bit quieter than the rest.

"He got married to that witch," I say vaguely remembering the invention I got a few months ago.

McGee then pipes up. "You didn't know that he married her?"

"No, but I feel like he invited me to the ceremony a few months ago. Knowing me I probably  threw it out."

Do you want to know what Gibbs was thinking? He was thinking about what crazed man who invites his ex-wife to his wedding, to a different woman. Expect one of his ex-wives invited him to their wedding. So, maybe it was the new thing, invite your ex-spouse to your wedding.

"Continue," Gibbs said to get everyone back on track.

McGee picked up where Tony left off. "Jake still works at NSA, as a Lawyer. He had recently bought a new apartment near the Navy Yard... It is in the same building as Bishop." He said looking down at his computer.

"He seemed to also have a spike of inflow of cash. His wife Taylor seems to be loaded by the looks of it." McGee finishes by looking at the newlywed's bank statements.

"Ok, McGee and I will head to talk to NSA, Tony, and Bishop, if you are up for it, go talk to the wife at their shared house. Then head to his new apartment." Gibbs says with concern lasing the last few words.

"I will be fine Gibbs, I just want to get this over with," I say grabbing my bag and heading towards the elevator with a Tony racing behind me. McGee and Gibbs were behind us and caught the elevator down to the garage.

***Tony's Car and Tony's POV***

We were driving to Taylor and Jake's residents. It was a nice 3 bedroom bungalow in the suburbs of DC. It was a good 20-minute drive to the house. It was between awkward silence and comforting silence.

I was beyond pissed that anyone would do something like this to anyone, let alone Bishop. The sister I always wanted. I turned to look at Ellie. She was looking out at the scenery and in deep thought. I really hope we get Jake and so she can feel safe again.

***Ellie's POV***

We were about halfway to the bungalow. I was in deep thought. Jake had come out of nowhere. Then again I had been followed by this grey town car for about a month.

Wait what if that was Jake? He had been following me for a month, learning my schedule, ready to pounce. No, Ellie, you are probably being paranoid.

***Taylor Mathews Bungalow | Third Person POV***

"...Ellie, Bishop, Earth to Bishop." Tony was calling out to the young probie.

Ellie turned towards Tony with the last call. "Yeah, sorry Tony. I was just in deep thought. Are we there yet?" She says DiNozzo.

"Yeah, we are here. Gibbs and McGee are at NSA Headquarters talking to Jake's friends and coworkers. We also have a search warrant if she won't let us in."  He says as they get to the house.

They knock on the door waiting for an answer. Not getting one the try again. "Taylor Mathews, NCIS. We have a Search Warrant." After not getting an answer again, they tried the door. Locked. Tony was just about to call for backup but Ellie had a different idea.

"Tony, I can pick the lock, give me a minute." Ellie took a bobby pin out of her hair that was holding her ponytail in place and went to unlock the door. She had it unlocked in a few seconds.

"Do I want to know how you know how to pick a lock with a bobby pin?" Tony asks Bishop after a minute impressed by her breaking and entering tactics.

"I have 3 older brothers, let's just say things get interesting." She says with a small smirk on her pretty little lips.

They both look at each other and on three they storm into the house yelling "Taylor Mathews, NCIS. We have a Search Warrant," again but getting no answer and clearing the house assume that she is not here.

***Ellie's POV***

Great, just great. She's not here and the house looks like a neat freak lives here. Jake was never a neat freak so my guess is that Taylor is. Tony is searching the first floor where the kitchen, living, and dining rooms were for clues.

I am searching the 2nd-floor where the bedrooms were for clues not finding much until I look outside to see that there is a storage shed with a lock on it.

"HEY TONY!" I yell down to him as I make my way back to the kitchen on the first floor.

Tony is in the kitchen looking over their mail seeing that they had a lot of overdue bills and whatnot. "What did you find Bishop?" Tony asks when I make it to the kitchen.

"Nothing much. It looks like only Taylor lives here because there are no men's clothes in the master bedroom and only one toothbrush on the counter in the bathroom, but I did see a shed in the back with a rather large lock on it. You find anything?"

"Yeah, I agree that Taylor was the only one living here. The bills and bank statements were addressed to her and only her. They had separate everything. The one thing that I could tell is that Jake drained Taylor's bank account and put all of the money into his. She is not paying her bills on time and is about broke." He says looking over the past bank statements Taylor had on the kitchen counter.

I agree with his statement and add to a list of crappy thinks Jake did in his horrible life. Tony and I start to head out to the locked shed looking for a way in.

"Think a bobby pin could unlock this lock?" Tony said chuckling amost in a mocking tone. I laughed it off.

"Haha funny. No, I don't think a bobby pin would work but this might." I say holding a sledgehammer I found around the back of the shed.

"That works too," Tony says as I hand him the sledgehammer.

He takes it and swings it braking the lock.

We take are SIGs and the count of three we storm in...

A/N: Cliffhanger! I think this where I am going to leave this chapter. It is longer than my others and I hope to try and update my stories more. School starts in a few days and I was planning on updating a bit a week. I might make a schedule for my three stories. Hope you liked this chapter! Vote, Comment, and I hope you all have a great week! 1472 words.
