My eyes flew open as I heard footsteps echo throughout the hall. Oh god. They must have found me again. Careful not to make the bed squeak or any noise, I sat up and started to make my way to the door. Quickly, I jumped to the side when I saw a shadow grow bigger. There was sweat forming on my forehead. I hoped whoever it was wouldn't open the door or I would have to hurt them... and God knows I don't like hurting people.

"Michael?" I head a small voice at the door and I soft knock. "Michael, can I come in?" I breathed a soft breath of relief and relaxed my demeanor. But my eyebrows furrowed in a bit of confusion. I could've sworn I heard a lot of footsteps. As if a whole army were coming after me or something.

Cautiously, I opened the door and looked down to see a little boy looking up at me with a stuffed tiger in his hand. He had on baby blue pajamas with little clouds on them. He stood in front of my door and rubbed his eyes tiredly as he asked again, "Can I come in?" I looked behind him, around in the house. There was only the moonlight coming through the window and a few toys scattered around on the floor. Nothing suspicious or out of the ordinary.

"Sure, Anthony." I opened the door wider and let him in, but I closed it quickly just in case. I was still having a weird feeling, and I was so sure that I had heard more footsteps than just Anthony's. This isn't the first time I've felt this way nor the first time I've been wrong, but you can never be too careful. "What happened, buddy? Why are you up so late?" I asked as I put the little boy in my lap as we sat on my temporary bed.

"I had a bad dream." He told me as he looked down. I raised my eyebrow, a bit surprised. I just realized I didn't have any nightmares tonight. It's like they transferred to Anthony instead. I probably would've slept soundly the whole night with no nightmares if not for Anthony, but it was fine that he woke me up. I don't mind at all. "Oh really? About what?" I asked him.

"It was really scary, but I don't remember what it was about. It was just really, really scary." He told me. I made him turn in my lap and look at me. "Why don't you remember? You didn't tell your parents?' he shook his head no to both questions. "I don't know why I don't remember, but I don't want to go back to my room. And I'm scared my parents might yell at me or make me go back to my room if I tell them about it. You won't do that to me, will you Michael?" I shook my head at him smiling.

"Of course not."

"So can I sleep with you tonight? Please?"

"Yeah, sure. Make yourself comfortable, I'll sleep on the floor."

"No, I wanna sleep next to you. That's the only way to make sure I don't have the nightmares again. Please, Michael, please?"

I bite my lip and look at the boy, thinking. I don't know if that would be the best idea, I've been accused of so many things before, and sometimes I have night terrors. I don't want to hurt Anthony. He looked at me pleadingly with his big blue eyes. They always seem trustworthy at first, they never look or seem like they'll lie about anything. I couldn't say no to him though. Anthony was only 5 years old; he wouldn't do something like that to me. He was too young and innocent.

I smiled and nodded slightly. "Okay, Anthony, but just this one time, okay?" he smiled big, shaking his head up and down before yawning. He got in bed, near the wall and I got in too. "Goodnight, Michael." He said as he closed his eyes and faced the wall.

"Goodnight, Anthony," I said, but he had already fallen asleep. I chuckled quietly and got comfortable, making sure I was a reasonable distance from Anthony. Before falling asleep I looked to the window and up at the sky. The stars twinkled as if in a synchronized dance for the night and the moon shone, big and bright.

"Please God. Just let this be a night where nothing happens and everything is safe." I whispered and fell asleep.

----

I was awake before anyone else in the house. Anthony was snoring softly and I grateful that nothing happened while I was asleep. I carefully got out of bed and went to take a shower. When I got dressed, I ate some breakfast I had made and left some on the table for the rest of the family that was here. I grabbed my duffel bag and sat in the living room watching TV while waiting for everyone to wake up before saying goodbye.

It had been a few more hours before the Jack, Anthony's dad got up, Marissa, Anthony's mom, and Anthony got up. They were surprised to see me up already and heading towards the door. "Remember, you guys can't tell anyone at all that I was here, okay? I'll make sure your hospitality is rewarded, thank you so much for letting me stay."

"Oh, it was our pleasure, Mr. Jackson. It was an honor to have you here, we are such a big fan of your music and you're such an inspiration to so many people including us." Marissa said with a warm smile. She gave me a quick hug.

"Yes, it was a pleasure having you here, Mr. Jackson." Jack said. He stuck his hand out and shook my hand. I nodded before kneeling down to Anthony who looked like he was about to cry. "Hey, little buddy." I said softly. He threw himself on to me in a tight hug and I hugged him back. "Please, don't leave, Michael. Please stay here and I'll protect you. You don't have to leave, please stay!" he cried.

"Oh, Anthony." His parents said. His father was about to bend down and pry him off of me, but I put my hand up, stopping him. "Hey. Anthony, look at me." He loosened his grip a little bit allowing me to push him back and see his face. "I do have to go and you need to stay here. I can protect myself. I would love to stay here with you guys-trust me, I don't want to leave, but I have to go, I can't stay in one place for too long, okay? You know what you can do while I'm gone though?"

"What?" he asked, his voice soft from the strain of his crying.

"You can stay here and protect your mommy and daddy. I'm sure they'll need it more than me. Can you do that?"

"Yeah, but... but I don't want you to go."

"I have to go and write and perform soon. Tell you what," he looked me in the eyes as he sniffled. "For my next concert, the Bad Tour that I've been preparing for, I'll dedicate a song to you."

"You will?"

"Yeah. It's called 'Come Together'. The Beatles sang it before, but I'm doing my own version. Is that okay with you?"

He smiled wide and nodded. "Yeah! Thanks, Michael!" he hugged me again. I stood up to face his smiling parents. "No problem. I have to get back to my hotel now before Frank flips out on me. Goodbye, Lincoln family. You guys have been too good to me."

"It was no trouble at all." I walked over to my motorcycle that was parked in the driveway. I revved up the engine before waving back and taking off. I sighed sadly. I knew I would miss them, I always miss families when I have to leave them. It breaks my heart and theirs, but this is my life now. All because of those Illuminati.
