"Please state your name for the records." The police officer stood before August in the small room as they convened for questioning. "August Anthony Alsina Junior" he spoke dully, staring directly at the officer. "Do you know why we bought you in today Mr. Alsina?" before he could utter a word, there was a knock and a lawyer dressed in a crisp, expensive suit walked in. "My name is Peter Rogen, I will be representing Mr. Alsina. Let's get right to this, is there any evidence on my client?" The officer rolled his eyes, every time he had something Rogen was right there to shut him down. "We have witnesses that place him at or near the scene of multiple suspected homicides that have recently taken place." Rogen smirked at officer Pettie, he knew he didn't have shit. "And is there any surveillance footage perhaps, that can attest to these accounts?" the officer sighed and sat back "no, bu.." He was cut off, "Then my client cannot be held on presumptions and presumably false statements. That will be all as we look into a civil case against the department of justice."
August smirked as his cuffs were removed and he was processed out. "Thanks Pete, how much do I owe you?" the lawyer shook his hand and replied, "Don took care of this one. He said it was a 'gift'." August flashed a look of confusion but quickly cleared his expression.
"I knew that bastard would come after you sooner or later" Don wheezed into the receiver. August was now inside the dummy warehouse, he knew that he would be closely watched for a while and had too much street wit to get caught slipping. "They're pinning me with everything Don, Peter got me out without sayin anything but they gone be on my ass for a while. There's no way I can work like this" he knew telling the Don no was like trying to tell Hitler he was wrong, deadly. "Youngblood I gotta agree. You the only smart cat I have if you go down this whole empire goes out. Your girl called, go take care of her. But believe me, you owe me."
She laid on the small bed in the doctors office looking at all the charts with pictures of mothers and their babies. Though she was worried about August, she knew she had something else to take care of first. "Hello, my name is Dr. Smith and I will be taking care of you. What brings you in today?" She shook the grey haired doctor's hand a smiled shyly, "Well, I just haven't been feeling like me lately. I've been really nauseous and tired so I took a test, and it, it came out positive. But then I took another and it was negative. So I just wanted to be sure."
She knew that something wasn't right the first day she woke up nauseous, she wasn't the type to get sick like that. Then she spotted and thought her period was coming on, but it never came. By that time she knew something wasn't right and that she should tell August, but she never got the chance to.
"Okay, well we can clear that up for you by doing an ultrasound and another urine test, the ones we use tend to be a little more sensitive than the at home ones." She nodded and took the small bottle from the doctor before going to pee in it. After minutes of waiting she was starting to get nervous.
"Miss? We just got your results back from the lab, congratulations!" the doctor gave a smile before sitting next to a sonogram machine, "Would you lift up your shirt please?" after squirting some jelly onto her belly the screen soon flashed what looked like a little pumpkin seed. "It looks like you're about 7 weeks. Everything looks healthy so far, I'll write you up a prescription for some prenatal vitamins and you can go."
After picking up her prescription she decided to head back to her room. She didn't have any friends and she knew her family wouldn't be very happy which made her kinda down. As she neared her door she began searching her bag for her keys. Without paying attention, she bumped into someone. "I'm sorry. I wasn't pay-" she stopped as she saw who was standing in front of her, "Did you miss me?"
