Never (Theseus Scamander x reader)

Never

You walk through the never ending halls of the ministry of magic, holding that stack of papers that you actually can easily levitate without no problem.

The problem is that you want to avoid eye-contact with people, or particularly someone.

Theseus Scamander 

A well-respected Auror. Your ex-best friend. Your first love.

You heard that he is looking for you and for you not to know the reason why , so you thought it is the best to avoid him as best as you can. 

Afterall he was the one who avoided you first

You're glad that you aren't bumping everyone while holding these papers. As you steps into the lift you release relieved sigh.

Mission Accomplished  you thought.

"Now let's get rid of these bloody papers" you muttered under your breath, completely unaware with a pair of eyes that is watching you.

"Y/N" 

uh-oh 

You look to your side. There he is, standing.

Theseus Scamander

A high-ranking Auror. Your ex-best friend. Your first love. 

The one that  you don't want to see right now.

"Hey Y/N you okay?"  he waved his hand in front of my face. 

I need to flee. You thought

Coming back into my sense you responded to him

"I'm okay, oh look it's my floor. See you later Mr. Scamander" you exited the lift without a second thought.

After getting out of that lift, you immediately drop that stack of papers. Your hands are shaking from the weight that you're carrying.

"You know very well this isn't your department right Y/N?" Someone says mockingly from your back.

"What do you want Theseus" you asked coldly 

"Let's put that aside first, your hands are shaking" he said as he tried to reach you hand. You quickly hide your hands in your back

"Nope. They're fine" you quickly said. Theseus being Theseus then grab your hand and check if it was okay. 

"Look they are shaking pretty badly" He said as he holds your tiny hands in his big and warm hands.

Warm.

How long it has been since you felt his warm? 

Hogsmeade , a place where you feel this kind of warm when he holds your hands.

You miss it.

"You miss what?" He said breaking your train of thoughts.

For the sake of Merlin--

"Did i just said that out loud?" you asked worriedly, 

"Well yes, you did. But i didn't really get it" He said releasing your hand, "They're okay now, i've cast a spell on them" he continued, you muttered a small "thank you" to him

Silence... 

Both of you don't utter a single word, his dark brown eyes bore into your eyes. He then opens his mouth to say.
